Demons and Lucid dreams

Hello everyone, my name is Gregory and I'm 18 years old. I've been really interested in lucid dreaming lately and I would like to have some more info on it. The reason I got so interested in Lucid dreaming is because I rarely dream. I dream about once every 2 months. But when I dream, It's mostly a positive dream. I have read a lot about your body paralyzing some times. Then you can't move your body because it stills thinks you're sleeping. Any ways, I've been trying to get into a lucid dream and last night I went to sleep with the intention to get a lucid dream. I told myself a few times I was going to have a Lucid dream. I had a dream (not an Lucid one) that I was really scared because parents would find out I had a blunt (weed) in my room. I was really really scared they would find out. I think it kind of worked a little bit because as I said I don't normally dream. Is this some progress? Also, is it normal to get in this paralyzed mode and seeing demons? Can you really talk with them etc? Also, how does flying feel? Thanks guys !

That's great progress! But when you say you dream once every two months, that's false. Everybody has about 3-7 dreams a night, you just can't remember them. Seeing demons in the paralyzed state (sleep paralysis) is normal. Since you can't move, you automatically think of monsters and stuff making you not move, so your brain hallucinate's that. And yes, flying is amazing. You can feel the wind beating against your skin and everything. It's awesome. Good luck with your LD's!

Hey!First of all,Welcome to the LUCID DREAMING WORLD! :3 Hehe...Anyways,Mantras doesn't work from the first night however,You should do it tonight too and see..If its not a coincidence then it's progress. By paralyzed mode you mean Sleep Paralysis..You should get more informed..Those demons are just hallucinations created by your brain because it gets in panic mode when he notices you cant move...Sleep paralysis is more likely to wake up (not fully) from a nightmare and your body is still asleep and your conscious not. No you cant talk with your hallucinations,but hallucinations can be good or bad..Its however you want it to be. Flying feels so awesome! Its like youre really flying you feel the breeze ETC.! Definitely a Dream Journal helps. As soon as you wake up after a dream, lay still for a minute or so to collect your thoughts. Make sure you don't stand up or go walking about or you'll start to lose it. Lucid or non-lucid, just right down whatever you remember. Then you can start looking for patterns and irregularities, Dream Signals. For example, if there turns out to be lots of weapons in your dream, (which your unlikely to see in real life,) then spotting a weapon in your dream will help you realise you are dreaming. This stuff has really helped me.

Thanks guys! I heard of a Dream Journal before and I will start to use it. I also thought that it might be a coincidence or not. It's true you dream that much but I almost never remember it so I think I never dream. I just go to bed and wake up and remember nothing but blackness, and that's probably just me closing my eyes I'm going to try again tonight before I go to sleep (Tell myself I want/are going to have a Lucid Dream) The reason I asked the questions about the demons is because my mom is really into paranormal stuff and she said I could encounter demons if I will have Lucid dreams, and when I googled it I found this website. If I ever encountered one I would ask WHY? And who he is. Have ever of you ever done that (Doesn't have to be in a Lucid dream or whatever). Lately I just wanted to learn more about this kind of world because my mom actually goes to these sessions with other people meditation and that kind of think, but then I realised there is such a huge base of people who do Lucid dreams, it must be awesome to do. To be clear: I would never want to meet a demon, I'm not into that stuff. Thanks guys, but when I had that dream last night I couldn't really do anything, I mean, It was just me but I couldn't really decide what I did and there were no signs that showed me it was a dream and not reality. It was like a tape that played back the dream I had when I woke up which I never saw before, if you get what I mean. There where no weird things that normally couldn't happen. It was just me hiding weed from my mother and she came into my room (I don't normally smoke) so I was really scared. One more question: What should I do if I DO get paralyzed and see scary things? EDIT: Yeah, I'm completely afraid of OBE's and AP because I read somewhere that while your soul is out, demons could take over your body.. And I have another question. Are OBE's even real? I find the concept hard to believe and also, is it true that demons can take over your body? I know I sound ignorant if this isn't true but I just wanted to throw this out there. I've literally been so freaked out by this so that's pretty much why I am asking. Read this in another post and this is EXACTLY what I'm scared of.

Yes, remembering a dream is a good step in the right direction. Note however that once you become lucid someday ideally you would realize that since this is just a dream there is nothing to be afraid of. I used to be quite good at lucid dreaming about 20 years ago (returning to the hobby now), and I can assure you that it is quite possible to lucid dream without ever experiencing sleep paralysis and without seeing any demons.

I'm happy to report he Demon stealing your body/soul stuff is completely untrue. I'm only a beginner at Lucid Dreaming but ill tell you what i know to help you. Lucid Dreams are amazing, they can provide you with whatever you want to see..imagine you have the ability to fly, then you can fly. Tell yourself you can control fire then you can create a fireball in your hand. If you approach Lucid Dreaming with a positive attitude then the experience can be as rewarding as you like. However, it you see a dream character and imagine him turning into a Demon he may well do (not happened to me.) If you get the chance to Lucid dream enjoy yourself. Don't be afraid, NOTHING can hurt you P.S. Tell your mum to stop telling you scary things! Also read my Dream Journal entries if you want an idea of some of the stuff you can do as a beginner

Hello people. I don't quite understand why it's apparently such a widely known phenomenom to panic hard while experiencing a sleep paralysis? Whenever I WILD and don't manage to slip through, but get caught in a paralysis I'm just like: "Meh." Sometimes I try to overcome the paralysis, but it's quite amazing how it will not allow you to move any limb even one millimetre, now matter how much force you put into it. I don't understand why people would feel a demonic presence etc.? Or even hallucinate? Well obviously, if you experience a paralysis, without having a clue what's happening, I guess you would panic hard, maybe I would too, but I'm used to it. Also dude. I totally have the same dreams too. I dream quite often that I'm either totally high, or am smoking a huge joint alone/with friends, then suddenly a familymember of mine would catch me, or almost catch me. Gives me the chills, especially when I'm unaware that I'm dreaming. I don't know, but I guess that's just your brain processing your real life experiences/fears. And flying is the most ecstatic experience I have gained from lucid dreaming yet (yes, not even intercourse with a top-model tops that). I still remember how hard it was for me to control the flying at first tries, I would lose control and shoot around everywhere like the green glibber thingies from the movie Flubber (was an awesome movie btw). But man, now that I taught myself flying, I get the most intense feelings of joy, when I fly over a city skyline, or over a deep blue sea, towards the sunset. Best. Experience. Ever. btw: Some folks said that you may encounter demons within a lucid dream? I was very afraid at first, I was scared to meet one inside my dreams. But I have never seen one so far. I have been told, that whenever you encounter something negative/demonic/evil within your dreams, you should greet it friendly/ask it's name and they would turn friendly immediately, does anybody have experiences on that and wants to share them? I would apreciate that quite much! P.S: The only scary things I have seen inside my dreams yet were: Huge evil wolves, that blocked my way ( you can read the report on WiseEggHeads Happy Funtalk: h_ttp://ww_w.dreamviews.com/lucid-experiences/143331-wiseeggheads-happy-funtalk.html#post2017789 along with a lot more interesting reports to come), Satan himself (or at least I was convinced that it's Satan) and Zombies ( I was terrified of zombies as a kid and kept dreaming of them).

Awesome that you had the same dream as me I love to hear that everyone likes flying so much, In real life though, I'm pretty scared of heights. Will that affect me in my Lucid dreams when trying to fly? Also, what I didn't mention is that IF I dream (What I can remember from it) It's not longer then 0:30-1 minute. If you have Lucid dreams, are they longer then normal ones? I really don't know what an normal length of a dream is but I don't think it's normal that I have these short dreams. It's 1:36 AM now and I'm about to sleep. I'm going to sleep again with the intention to have a lucid dream again and will post here tomorrow if I (lucid) dream again. Then I know it wasn't a coincidence and that I'm making progress. Also, what is a more effective way? WILD or the one which I'm doing now which is thinking/saying about wanting to have a lucid dream (not sure if that is actually a method but I think i read it somewhere)? Any ways, sorry for all the questions but I just really want to experience a Lucid dream, even if it is for once. Sleep/dream well guys!

The fear of heights may or may not carry over to the dream. It does not have to. It will if you expect it to. If you however are aware enough to know that it is a dream and thus nothing can hurt you and thus there is no reason to be afraid of height in the dream because it is all in your mind, then you should be able to fly without fear of heights if you truly believe that you can. Dream lengths vary, while it is not that simple, but e overall rule of thumb is that dreams that happen earlier in the night are much shorter than dreams that happen after you have been asleep for hours already. However, there is the actual length of the dream versus the recalled length, and overall it is not unusual for people to start with recalling mostly short dreams or rather not recalling dreams in detail so they seem short and such. Then as your dream recall improves over time, and you remember more details, then your recalled dreams will be longer. Some people say that DILDs are easier than WILDs and for most people I guess they are, but one good advice is to try for both: when you first go to bed continue your intension and mantra (you may want to check out the MILD Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views if you have not already. but if you wake up say at 3 or 4 or 5am, and if there is enough time for you to go back to sleep, then try for a WILD as well. Different people are different, and just because most people find DILD easier than WILD does not mean it will be easier for you. best!

I just copied this quote from another thread for you as i thought it was appropriate (and funny) - 'There was a dark hooded figure standing above me. Looking back on it, it looked like the Grim Reaper. I said "Hi! How's it going?" Because I knew that I was dreaming, and I knew it wouldn't be scary. It responded "Good. And you?" In a very high-pitched voice.' And just to continue on from what JoannaB just said, going to sleep with a mantra, then if you wake up trying to WILD. After that if you wake up again towards the morning hours you can try doing a WBTB, this has been the most successful for me so far. But again personal preference, whatever works for you
