It can feel like waking up for the first time from hybernation, emerging from the bottom of the ocean to take a breath, the greatest joy of one's life or just a vague feeling of realization, or it could feel like adrenaline rushing through one and achievement at sports or intellectual achievement, a taste of the potential of spiritual enlightenment or just a sense of freedom and awe. It is a very subjective experience, and can feel different for different people, and even for same person in different lucid dreams. Edit: How would you answer the question "What does it feel like to be alive?" I think lucid dreaming feels like that. But if you answer, being alive does not feel like anything special, consider that it is special and it should feel that way. |

You may say I'm a dreamer.
But I'm not the only one - John Lennon
To me it often feels like literally visiting another world. It feels very uplifting, there's a certain rush of power and freedom which comes from the sense/expectation of being able to do, be and have everything I might desire for a moment. And then of course... it may feel a little different from dream to dream granted it's always an amazing, unique feeling. Disneyland and so much more. |

If compared to a drugged state, it is not at all like being drunk (most of the time) and more like mushrooms or some such. What I mean is that you are cognativelly impaired, but not really like drinking causes. You may have odd sensations if you try to feel your body, things you try to closely examine will have shimmering effects or other distortions, and you will have trouble fully engaging your mental faculties. Some may not understand what I mean, but perhaps they never stopped to compare. The simple act of remembering what day it is and where you fell asleep, could prove too difficult. Things you should know are wrong can seem normal, such as walking from your house to grandma's despite her living in another city. |

Lucid dream quality varies. But to me you feel like you are in a different reality, but it does feel like a real place. It is different from real life in some ways....I notice scene changes like I will be in a room one second then be outside... like I was headed to the door, and then the scene switches to outside, but it doesnt strike me as being odd at all. Maybe a little like how your mind is when drunk. It is a real rush as you can do neat things like fly or move through walls. I usually have a euphoria when I awake and am in a happy mood for a couple days. |
