This may belong in the DJ, but it's my first LD and I have a question about it.

In my dream, I began to recall my dreams from that night so that I could write them down in my journal. I was in a barn with a guy I work with. I asked him to help me recall my dreams because I knew he was a DC. At this point, I already knew I was dreaming. (I had known off and on a while in this dream, which makes me wonder why I didn't go lucid sooner). I thought for a second and reminded myself of my goal to LD. I yelled because I was so excited, "I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming!", and I punched my co-worker in the back of the head. He was laughing about it though because I was so excited. Immediately after that, I became really dizzy and I focused on my pinkys for some reason. My hands were shrinking away and I thought I was going to wake up. I did a couple pirouettes and went back to focusing, this time on my thumbs. Everything seemed to stabilize OK. I started running around like a maniac jumping and trying to fly. I kept landing on my face. I reminded myself that I just had to believe in it. It was that easy, I jumped out of the barn down a steep hill and began to fly. I woke up shortly after.

I am pumped about LDing for the first time, but I did it without any reality checks. I knew I was dreaming already, and I realized that in most dreams, I seem to already know I'm dreaming, but they are not Lucid. So how can I remind myself to go lucid when I already know I'm dreaming??
