      which technique is right

I'm new to all this. I've never had a lucid dream, but I have been really dedicated to the process for almost three weeks now. My question is which method is best for somebody who's never had one? I've tried DILD but I never become lucid. I keep a journal and do reality checks religiously. I have very vivid dreams but I never realize I'm dreaming until after I've woken up. I've tried WILD, but I'm not sure if I'm even doing it right. I've had a few times that I feel I'm being pulled into a dream but it never gets all the way there. I try WBTB but I can never drift off until I've given up and just pass out, resulting in more vivid non-lucid dreams. Am I just being impatient? With WILD I always seem to snap out of it when my eyelids start twitching uncontrollably. Seeing as how I've never had a lucid dream, should I just continue to try for a DILD so at least I know what it should feel like?

There is no right or wrong technique. DILD has been said to be easier for beginners, but it really just depends on yourself personally. It may seem like you haven't made any progress cause you haven't gotten lucidity yet, but you really have! Each and every dream recalled is a step towards lucidity, so just keep at it and your hard work will eventually pay off.

Mahoogie is exactly right. Techniques are personal, it took me forever to find out which one was right for me. Look at the options and try to pin point what would work well with your traits.
