All Day Awareness ( Sort of ) - Paintball trip -

My son wanted an unusual birthday gift for his 16th birthday
I searched everywhere for something that a teenager, and his mates would enjoy.
Eventualy the idea of a day out at a paintball camp came to mind.
The only thing was, one of his friends did not turn up, so he begged me to go in.
Not being one to spoil his fun, I reluctantly agreed.
The day basicaly involved, army like manouvers to outwit the enemy camp, and capture their base.
When we all got home, you could tell everyone was exhausted, so when the house was free from teenagers, I went to bed.
This is when the days experiences came back
At first, I saw a paintball coming toward me at high speed, and jumped so strongly, I woke myself up.
Then when I tried to get back to sleep, all I could hear was paintball guns going off.
I could hear my sons voice, and all his friends shouting to each other. The sounds were coming constantly, and I was still only drifting off to sleep.
The images were so vivid, I could not even tell if I was dreaming, or not.
I have had similar days in the past, but never new about ADA until joining this forum.

It looks like you can choose a dream, even if it is not a lucid one. Simply by putting yourself in an intense situation for a few hours.
I would love to know if anyone else has had similar experiences, or uses this to induce dream/lucid states.

It's a normal experience, and common, particularly with intense situations and the feeling of continued awareness as you would find in a warfare situation.

Of course you can sometimes feel this from drinking too much soda or coffee while doing a repetitive task.

Personally when I get like that I sleep fitfully, if at all, and often try to counter the feeling/experience by numbing out to TV or drinking milk. I could see this being used for lucid dreaming though I personally find that I don't care for the experience, lying there while my mind runs like crazy.

If it happens again where you get the combination of being tired but also hearing the constant noises, give WILD a try.
