      Lack of motivation

Hi Guys , new poster here.
I have been trying to obtain Lucidity for about a month now , with mainly the WILD technique.
I cant seem to put myself to do RC's during the day , I have a background saying ; Are you dreaming? on my phone as a reminder , but now when I see it I just think meh . I usually also dont do the RC after...
Also when I WILD after a while I think by myself ; this takes too long.. I might as well go lie on my side ( more comfortable ) and go to sleep faster.

What is your motivation? I haven't had any LC's so I dont have anything to remind me of how cool it will be and stuff....

      Thanks in advance.

I have had 1 LD but it was nothing special, just black...I too struggle with motivation, but what I do is imagine a world with no boundaries, a place where I am not restricted by my not so great waking life.

the mindset that I find works best is the mindset of longterm process.

If you focus on having a lucid dream you are result focused and it's not really in your control.

So to keep you motivated you need to focus on things that is within your control such as taking action and learning.

Fail, failure is fine because they are oppurtunities to learn. And when you learn you improve and when you improve you get more result (eventually).

So don't focus on result focus on progress in learning.

^ What MasterMind said, I do however find it useful and enjoyable to keep at least the goal for your next lucid dream in mind. It is also useful so you do not end up simply wandering but perhaps not in your stage yet, right now you might want to simply experience with lucidity as much as possible no?

Your "tangible" goals can be anything from something purely recreational (have a drink with a celebrity or wtv) to something you might consider the "deep stuff" so to speak, no limits on yourself and one step at the time. Enjoy the process.

No one succeeds without first failing. Some may fail more than others but success is guaranteed with devotion and appropriate practice.

      There's my two cents.

Recalling your regular dreams, if you don't do that well already, can be motivational. Some are mundane, yes, but some are so interesting and thought provoking.

Also check out at least the first post (relatively short) in this thread: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...mpossible.html

The knowledge that you can do practically anything in the dream world could be the additional motivation you need.

Who cares about RCs. RC spamming never works.

Try MILD, WILD, and other methods, and RC when you know you are dreaming.

That's not necessarily true. As long as you stop what you are doing and put some meaning behind RCs, they should work. I had a lucid dream just the other night that started off with me accounting eleven figures. So yes, it does work. And everybody is different. Just because something doesn't work for you doesn't mean that it won't work for the next guy.

Just by stopping, you are asking yourself a Critical Question.

It is the act of stopping that make you lucid, not the reality check.

What critical question you are asking by stopping RCing?

Nobody here talks about RC spamming. Because we know, that it's not the RC that gets us lucid, but the awareness question you ask before you RC. The questioning of your reality. And if you believe that RC will work when you do it in daytime, that's a great tool once you get a hint of awareness in a dream.

I.. wait, what? I was saying that by stopping to think, that counts as a critical question.
I guess the questions and the RCs are pretty much the same thing, so let's end this discussion.

Ah, sounds like you meant "stopping whatever you doing and then questioning your surroundings (thinking)". Now that makes sense.

A few things that spark my motivation:

-The ability to talk to your own subconscious (allows for personal development and introspection)
-Watching documentaries of beautiful natural environments where I imagine myself flying through
      -Extremely attractive women
-The idea that we waste about 1/3 of our life when we can actually utilize that (I know only a small part of our sleep is REM but since dreams seem longer..)
-Improved creative thinking and being able to look at things in ways you couldn't imagine before

I think ironically lack of motivation, which can equate to a lack of mental energy and clarity, for me at least, corresponds to average dreams and lack of lucidity.

Just comes and goes for some of us, I was so hyped when I discovered this site and what lucid dreaming actually was, had a cool lucid dream within two nights thinking this was too easy but since have struggled to have had a similar experience; have been lucid but it has not been great.

But I know it will come back, along with the motivation, not because I am working on any LD technique, because I am working on myself and trying to broaden my consciousness day to day, which in itself leads back to LDing.

Is just part of the journey of life, get bored or frustrated with one thing broaden your mind with something else.
