Do you think it's a problem that I want to lucid dream, so I can do drugs in my sleep without effecting my waking life? In a lot of cases it's difficult for me to look at my choices objectively. So, playing with fire, or all in good fun? |

Spoiler for Secret to LDing:
Well, it depends. You might enjoy it in your dreams so much, that you start it in real life, which is a problem. |

Personally I don't think you should. It sounds too risky. If you start giving into your impulses like that in your own sub-conscious realm, it could make it much harder to resist in waking life. A relapse is a relapse. :/ |

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, I might just back out of this. Chances are I won't have a lucid dream soon enough anyways. |

Yea that's the direction I've been leaning in. Thanks for the input. |

My reason for lucid dreaming was because I wanted to be with a certain person. But then when I experienced LDs I discovered it was greater and more powerful and incredible than my initial goal. You may forget about drugs and get hooked on lucid dreaming, like me. |
|
I don't think it would be fundamentally a problem, it may or may not pose a threat. A dream is a dream and waking life is waking life. You are the protagonist in both though, if you can separate them, only you should tell, let no one limit your beliefs. If it were to affect you it would obviously only do so on a psychological level thus the uncertainty. Even if you'd get someone experienced in a similar situation to yours (which would be optimal) to give their input, you'd still have your own personal element. |

Intending and expecting I lock my target, proceeding to imagine how it will come to pass.
I'll keep you guys posted on any future developments on the topic at hand. Sadly I haven't been able to recall any dreams the past few nights. I even try to set alarms in the middle of the night, but I got nothin. So it seems this is a future problem, that will take some time to even matter. |
|
I see nothing wrong in that. |

I don't see anything wrong with it personally. I dream about drugs every now and then, mostly psychedelics, and it doesn't seem to affect me adversely in any way. I mean, people dream about going on mass murder and mass fornication rampages all the time, but you don't usually hear about them going and doing it in real life because they dreamed about it. |
|
Haha. I'll be careful if I decide to test the water. |
|
Let me ask you something Roaka... do you see taking drugs in waking life as sick? Just curious. |
|
They say curiosity killed the cat...
Fortunately, I am not a cat.
I don't see it as inherently sick, no. It depends on the person I guess. But I certainly let it become a problem when I use drugs. I'm a couple weeks away from a year sober though, and I've had someone where I work telling me about these ridiculously low prices, and I told him I wasn't interested. So I feel like I might have the self control to experiment at this point. I was hoping someone here would have had a simIlar experience, but I guess it is a really specific situation. |

I had a heavy nicotine addiction for years, and I decided to 'quit' in my dreams as well as waking life. |
