      Natural lucid dreamer

      Hi all.
I would call myself a natural lucid dreamer. I have had the ability to control my dreams ever since I can remember. Only recently now I am in adulthood has it become a real problem. It exhausts me as yes it's great I can control dreams but its not good when I wake up. Feel like I have been awake all night. I also feel like I'm in movie inception. If I fall asleep quite bit in place that's new to me then back home I get confused as to where I fell asleep from so when I have dreams I have dreams within a dream if that makes any sense? Then when it gets bad very quick I use method of shaking vigorously in dream to wake self up quick but forget as to where I have fell asleep from... Just want a peaceful night sleep. All you people want lucid dreaming, you're welcome to mine! I remember every single dream,l, even dated back to when I was 3. I have been flying, repeat dreams so I have adapted it to keep me entertained, done everything in dreams but now I just want to sleep like normal person. Please help! X

Oh no! Darn those mystical powers. Bummer. So sad. And so on,,, if you had 500+ posts I would perhaps take you serious. I recommend you contact someone who does sleep studies. Let them probe your brain a bit.

Edit: I am sorry if you are serious. If you are, well tell us more. How do you think we can help?

I've heard of this before, but it's extremely rare. I really don't think that you're in the right place. Like sivason said, your best bet is to contact a sleep specialist.

Some of my nights are like this, but thankfully not all the time. Consider drinking a shot before bed. I know this sounds really weird and possibly impractical, but alcohol inhibits REM in the first half of the night and concentrates REM in the second half. This might give you a chance at a normal night. You can alternatively take 50 mg (above the medically recommended dose, but it will get the job done. DO NOT EXCEED THAT. You will regret it.) of diphenhydramine (Benadryl). It makes you sleep, but it disrupts sleep cycles to the point where some parts of the night are unconsciousness and nothing else. This may not work or may not be sensible, but I think REM rebound induction might be your only chance.

Also, if you are legitimately troubled by this, seriously go see a doctor.

I wouldn't recommend using those substances more than a couple night a week max. Says the guy with the pot avatar... I know... I know.

Yeah, they can do some nasty stuff to your sleep, so that's why it would be kind of hard... Bro, just go to a doctor. Magic. Doctors fix everything.
