How do you make Sleep paralysis bearable

Hey everyone! My question is to all of you Lucid Dreamers out there, how do you make Sleep Paralysis bearable? In other words do you think of something that makes you not afraid of Sleep Paralysis, or do you just suck it up and deal with all the scary hallucinations that can happen during Sleep Paralysis. I'm really curious because I always want to Lucid Dream, but sleep paralysis always gets in my way. Much Appreciated, Happy Lucid Dreaming! -The Doctor

You are quite unlikely to get SP, as in being paralyzed. Because SP happens after we start to dream. If it happens before, it's a disorder and if you part of the small percentage of pupulation and you have it, you already know it. But for the rest of us, it's 1-2 in a lifetime event and you have same small chance to have SP when you going to sleep normally as when WILDing.

What people most often wrongly call SP are normal sensation we get when falling asleep. You can feel heaviness or lightness, tingling - all signs of relaxed body. Movement, hearing sounds or seeing images - signs of falling asleep and dream being near.

I have had a few hundred WILD attempts and not once have I had a bad experience. If you go into it knowing that anything you may/may not experience is just in your head, a hallucination and it can't hurt you in any way. Also, if yo know, that your dreams and HH are influenced by your thoughts and feelings, you also know, that if you think of something scary, it may happen. Because you thought about it first. Look at some nice videos or some beautifull vistas to fill your mind and then keep thinking about that as you WILD.

WILD for beginners Induction Methods and Techniques - here you will also find our DILD. DILD is a method most often recommended to start with, as it will teach you all the basics that will help you perform a WILD later.

WILD (sageous) - very detailed tutorial WILD

And btw, HH happen only when you WILD. And even then they may not every time. When you DILD, you just go to sleep normally. No HH involved. That's another reason why DILD should be the first method to try. It will give you confidence to deal with WILD.

      Good luck and happy dreams.

Happened to me only when i woke up, i would recommend to think of it as something normal. Do not be scared, personally i try to enjoy it.

The worst thing to do is to be afraid of it, the more you think of it as something bad the worst experience you will have.

And this is definitely not something that could stop you from lucid dreaming

It's all about your frame of mind! I'm one of the unfortunate people who gets sleep paralysis on a near daily basis, which led to my interest in lucid dreaming. If you get scared going into SP, you'll likely see scary things. So (if you can SP in the first place) it's best to only try it when you're in a good mood and feeling calm. Focus your mind on things that make you happy going in to SP and try not to let yourself feel anxious and freaked out over the way your body feels because it WILL feel different. Usually, for me, it's a full-body tingling sensation followed by a huge pressure on my chest and head. Just know that even though it feels different, it can't hurt you.

If you get into SP and find you're seeing scary things anyway, the best method I'd found is to meet them head-on. See a shadowy demon? What would the Doctor do! Smile and say hello to him, imagine him transforming into something better. Don't give in to your fears.

Suck it up and deal with it, Nitehawk. Or better yet, just ignore it.

"SP" and all those hypnagogic hallucinations are simply noise that your body makes every night, but you happen to be hearing it because your waking-life awareness is present. Treat them as such, let them pass by, and the path to your dream will likely continue unfettered. Doing things to make them important, like being afraid or, worse, fascinated, will likely close the door on your LD.

Also, listen to Gab, because she is right.

Because it's all in your mind.
