      Unhappy Motivation

Hey DV, what motivates you into writing in your dream journals and having lucid dreams? I am a very bad procrastinator and after I filled my notebook with dreams I haven't got around to getting a new one and it's been 3 months since then.. When I had my dream journal I was recalling dreams almost every night but since I stopped I haven't remembered a full dream since. Any ideas to get motivated again? I just put a few pieces of paper and a pen by my bed but I'm not really thinking I'm going to recall my dream since it's been so long. I still do ADA every day because it doesn't take much effort to do it and remember to but with this poor dream recall lately I wouldn't even remember my lucid if I had one any time soon.

Think about lucid dream goals, daydream about them, read other people's dreams and interesting dreaming related threads, watch something lucid dreaming related. There are many ways to keep yourself motivated, and procrastination or not, if you really want it the feeling of wanting to have lucid should keep the motivation! Think positive and keep practicing, you can do it!

Recall some cool dreams and lucids you had before and remember how amazing they felt. Stay around people whom you can talk about lucid dreaming with; staying around the forums helps get you in that lucid mindset a lot. Make a list of goals, daydream, as Scionox said. Watch inspirational vids or books or video clips of actions sequences and superpowers you wanna experience. Tell yourself that you won't be benefitting from always procrastinating, and everyday you procrastinate, you're just gonna slip more and more. You don't have to become obsessed and write down and do everything, simple daydreaming and trying to recall your dreams in the morning help a lot. Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Basically everything that paigeyemps said. I also like to talk to some of my friends about it, our motivation bounces and it helps us both out.

Hanging around in the forums and posting a lot helps out as well

I just made a to-do list that does wonders. It really let's you think about all the amazing stuff that's possible within a lucid dream. Write them down so you can recall them in a blink of an eye. From the beginning of my teenager years, I wanted a sandbox videogame with a world-size environment and where I make the rules. With lucid dreaming, it's finally within reach That's one of the things that drives me to pursuit lucid dreams.

Also, you might want to watch this film, Wake up! Press "Continue as free user" to watch.

      Good luck!

I would agree that making a to-do list of fun things to do in a lucid dream helps with motivation. I also like to number how many good lucid dreams I've had, and even treat it like a game and give myself points for remember dreams, remembering L.D. goals, and successfully reaching those goals.
      It's all in your head.
