You can't keep a lucid dream going all night in the same way that you can't have non-lucid dreams all night. We generally dream during REM sleep, which occurs at the end of every 90 minute sleep cycle. So every 90 minutes we will dream. The length of the REM period tends to start off at around 10 minutes and increases the longer you sleep to say 30 or so minutes. Your dream length is limited to your REM Sleep length, basically. That's why it's easier to remember dreams later on in the night, or in the early morning, because your REM periods are longer and more noticeable. |
