      Question Share your experience about successfull lucid dreams while napping.

      Hey guys and girls,

      I'd love to hear your personal experience about lucid dreams while taking a nap.
      Please share as much information as possible, such as:
      - the length of your nap;
      - how long you were awake before the nap;
      - the technique used to become lucid;
      - how long it took you to enter a dream, lucid or not,

      and so on.

      Thanks in advance and hopefully this thread will become a good resource about lucid dreaming while napping

      Yo. Napping is golden for lucid dreaming! Most of my lucid dreams are from naps.
      For length, usually do 2 1 hour long naps, for time before nap, varies but i have found out recently that first nap being ~2 hours after waking seems to work best for me personally. The techniques i have success with vary, there have been DILDs, WILDs, DEILDs. As for how long it takes for me to fall asleep, i pay no attention to time because it's not important.

      Thank you for your reply. I guess time is not important because you've found your sweet spot for napping. I have had one LD while napping through WILD (read DJ entry here, the day before that particular day I went to bed around 12:30 am, got up at 7:30 am, took the nap around 12 hours after waking up and I woke up from the nap at around 8:30 pm.

      So I guess the best moment to take a nap will be in ~2 hours after waking or late in the afternoon, early evening.
      One more question, which of the techniques would you say has the most success rate for yourself? DILD, WILD or DEILD?

      Thanks

      I had my first LD from a nap! I had been looking up tons of random false things about LDing and I decided to nap with intent after work. So five hours awake, then nap. It was about an hour of sleep and after about 10 minutes of dream (running from voldemort) I accidentally teleported to a dream realm that looked like the matrix white room. I picked up a rock and examined it (the rock was crazy awesome vivid looking) and started spinning and then I teleported back, thinking that I had woken up. Ended up waking up right when I decided to stand and fight. the lucid part of it lasted like 30 seconds. Haha.

      I get lucids 50% of the time from naps, normally DILD, followed by a DEILD. It is way easier for me to DEILD later in night and in a naps. You should use all three depending on the time you are better at using. I probably have 40% DILD, 60% WILD, but 70% of my WILDs are DEILDs that happen after a DILD. I use the same tech feeling for all three, so I don't have to think of what tech I am using.

      BrandonBoss, Scionox & others...do you prepare for or induce your LDs differently for naps?

      I prepare for all LDs the exact same.

      Hi there. Naps are awesome! I always get the most bizarre and vivid dreams and lucid dreams during naps. Sadly, because of school, I barely nap anymore. Anyway, I'm gonna share how I get my lucids while napping, and not really a specific lucid dream, rather, in general.

      I usually nap at around 3pm, which is about 5-6 hours after waking up in the morning. Most naps I have last about 3-4 hours with no waking breaks in between. During naps, I don't really practice any technique; I just sleep directly. Sometimes I'd try to WILD but I usually just cave in and go to bed normally. I do daydream during my nap though, until I eventually fall asleep while daydreaming. It would take more or less 30+ minutes before I completely fall asleep, though I can't tell when I actually start dreaming.

      Many of my lucids have been from naps, a couple of WILDs, mostly DILDs but sometimes DEILDs (when I start waking up and decide to extend my nap). i also drink apple juice before naps as it helps with my vividity even more.

      Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Isn't 3-4 hours a bit long for a nap?

      When you guys use DEILD, do you try to visualize aspects of the dream you just woke up to, or do you visualize something completely new?
      I've read about apple juice, I might try that next time.

      Hihihi, i suppose it is. But usually when I nap I try to make sure I won't be disrupted so if nothing wakes me up, I just keep going until I wake up naturally. I do take school naps for about 30-45 minutes but those are just powernaps so I don't die during class x)

      I tend to visualize the dream I just had. It is much easier for me to get into the previous dream because the scene is still fresh in my mind, compared to if I had to imagine up a new one which could take some time and more effort.

      Naps are perfect for lucid dreams! If I'm tired I usually have a short lucid dream without even trying. I don't often nap (because often I wake up more tried and with a headache, no idea why) but when I do it's usually in the afternoon. WILD also works well with naps, not as good as WBTB but still worth a try.

      OBE's OBE's and OBE's during naps, I find it most interesting during nap. I prefer to keep long dreams for my main sleep
