Every time I go to sleep or take a nap I start dreaming and I can see myself moving and all but I'm not the one moving myself. And when I wake up I guess I start hallucinating and I start hearing voices and I was able to talk to them back too. Is it possible for someone to be able to control my dream by lucid dreaming about me? Honestly I don't understand why but whoever is doing this they are basically watching me 24/7. I would get these weird feelings on my nose, cheeks, my eyeball, hair, and my neck. I just need some help. Thanks! |

Hello and welcome. The first part you describe about seeing yourself in the dream but not being in control sounds relatively normal to me... Non lucid dreams aren't controlled anyway, they just tend to give us the illusion that we are in control. If the dream is specifically making you feel like you have no control, my personal thought is it could be related to anxiety about a real life situation. |

I'm not saying it's impossible (although I personally don't believe it is possible) that someone tried to prevent you from having a lucid dream, but maybe it was your own mind that said that? I think it's likely that there's some doubt somewhere in your mind that you can have a lucid dream, and this is just a manifestation of that. IF this is the case, I suggest you have more confidence on yourself and on what you can do. |

I don't know to be honest. Cause right now I can hear a voice that not even my voice that is talking in my head right now. I guess I'm hallucinating but when I fell asleep earlier the dream I had I was like moving on my own. I tried and I tried but it seems like someone is really trying to prevent me from lucid dreaming. I mean who does that really? I mean this has been going on for a while and it even made me not want to sleep at times. :\ |

Well this isn't the direction I expected this thread to go. Did you talk to someone in waking life who said they were blocking you? Whose voice are you hearing while awake and what's it saying? |
|
This sounds like it could be schizophrenia to me. |
|
Could be, but he said it's been going on "a while" so one thing I'd like to rule out is that it may be triggered by medication. Longdu, were you prescribed any new medicine around the time this all started, or stop taking any? Other drugs used for more recreational purposes might bring that out also. |

Heh sorry I just wanted to know if something like this ever happened to someone else. |

No need to apologize, just trying to help you figure it out... Can't say I've had anything quite like that happen to me. I don't know why anyone would want to keep you from lucid dreaming if that's possible or who would try. |
|
Well last night was pretty bad. I think someones is astral projecting and like stalking me cause I remember reading about astral projection and that you can actually like stalk and mess with someone in real life while you're sleeping. |
|
Sure, it is this guy: |
|
I'm pretty sure that if you randomly hear hallucinated voices then you should find out if you have schizophrenia. I don't know much about schizophrenia but yeah hallucinations during waking life isn't normal unless you're on hallucinogens. |
|
You actually can hallucinate for a while immediately after waking up, or if you're really sleepy. Especially if you're sleep deprived. Your mind needs a certain amount of REM sleep, and if it doesn't get it you'll start to experience microsleep episodes, where you sort of zone out briefly and have little mini-dreams with reality interwoven. And if you're in a sort of half-dream state much of the time, (as from sleep deprivation) you can definitely experience the hypnopompic hallucinations like your skin being touched etc at random times. |

Darkmatters you just answered most of my questions I really thank you cause I actually attempted suicide once cause of this and it was really bad I really thank you once again and to everyone elses advice. |

You're welcome. You must mean the sleep deprivation thing, because you responded before my final edit. |

Well this is the 3rd time I've woken up and to be honest. I'm sure there is someone with a group of people that are messing with my head. Cause I can actually hear them talking about me right now as we speak and all they do is make fun of me and call me names. I was imagining about a keyboard in my head and I typed in my head for them to leave me alone and all I remember is seeing in my head "LOL." |

I really think this goes deeper psychologically than just dreaming. I believe you may have schizophrenia (Or something similar), schizophrenics usually hear voices that aren't their own or what seems like a seperate entity but these voices aren't a seperate entity. Schizophrenics get delusioned about these things thinking it may be something else, but it's all in the mind. There aren't people watching you (All in the mind), you really need to see someone, a doctor perhaps, tell them. This seems way too far from just dreaming. |

^ Yeah, gotta say I agree with this assessment. If you honestly believe there are people controlling your dreams and who can 'see' everything you think or do, that's not related to sleep deprivation. Serious paranoia like that is a symptom of some kind of disorder. In my case I never confused the fantasy with reality. |

I know right but for some reason the dreams that I have they like go along with the voices that I'm hearing. Again I read on astral projection said that you can spy on someone in real life while sleeping that is what it's getting to me. I wouldn't know how I even got schizophrenia cause no one in my family has it but can someone randomly just get it? I mean they would have to be traumatized in some way in order to get schizophrenia right? |

Genetic predisposition is only part of it. I read that while it is much less frequent, but people who do not have a history of schizophrenia may develop schizophrenia as well. However, I am not an expert, and I don't believe anyone on this forum has a license to practice psychiatry over the Internet, therefore I would suggest you seek out a doctor in person, who can figure out whether you have a mental disorder or not. Wishing you all the best. |

You may say I'm a dreamer.

Ok well this is what I officially think. There is someone messing with me while I am trying to lucid dream or fall asleep. I can hear the voice talking to me in my head and I can talk to it back and it's saying that I don't deserve to lucid dream and that this person is trying to prevent me from sleeping by messing with my nose, touching me barely and making me itch that certain spot, and giving me schizophrenia basically. I don't know if it's possible but they said "it's hilarious" and it sounds like there are more then one person too. I really need to see a doctor..heh.. |

You really sound delusional (No offense), now that it seems you have such deep delusions i don't know how we'll be able to get to you. Here's how schizophrenia works, NO ONE is giving you these problems, there is no one messing with you, it's just in your head. Those voices can't give you schizophrenia, because you already have it (it seems) and they are just in your mind, you're mind can't just make schizophrenia happen. This might be hard to fathom seeing as you think these voices aren't your own, but they are, and this forum has really nothing to do with these problems, these ARE NOT dream related problems, these are psychological problems, trust me. It might be hard to trust me because you might think i could be lying in the state you're in now but i assure you i'm not. Now, these are not regular hallucinations, these are delusions. It seems now that you think these voices are giving you schizophrenia "and giving me schizophrenia basically", you've some how made a link to the voices causing this, they're not, these voices are just in your mind, these aren't real people, they are just a product of your mind, they are part of the schizophrenia, not the reason you have it. It's good you are starting to realize that this is a big problem "I really need to see a doctor..heh..". This is a step in the right direction, when did this start occurring? How many years? |
|
I'm really sorry if I asked a lot of questions but I really needed answers lol. I deeply apologize. This started happening sometime a year ago I not sure back then it was on and off but now it's like constantly every single day. |
