      scared of false awakenings

ive been reading DV, and for a while ive been scared of having FA's (not lucid dreaming, i love them). many people have reported freaky things like dead people, random guys, shadow people etc..
I get scared easily, and since it's a FA i believe itll scare me from having ld's.
It's also scaring me from sleeping.

How can I shake this off?

False awakenings are great, not bad. They make lucid dreaming a lot easier. Sure, they can be nightmarish at times, but the fact that they make lucid dreaming easier makes it worth it.

Once you're in a dream, there's nothing that could hurt you. Experiencing a few false awakenings and discovering how they make it easier for you to become lucid will help you get over the fear of them.

They are really no different than dreams. You just dream that you have woken up. You should not fear them any more than you fear having a dream.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

You've sort of set yourself up for nightmares by fearing false awakenings. If you expect those things to be there when you have a false awakening, they will most likely be there. The beauty about false awakenings is that they can take you straight into a lucid dream once you realise you are in one. They are definitely more positive than negative experiences

Firstly I agree with everything that's been said here...

I don't have many FAs but I've never had a "nightmarish" one unless you count going through my morning routine and then waking up and having to do it again, because that's usually what happens in mine. Then there was one time I'm still debating what to really call this because it was so strange (successful WILD vs FA with DILD?) Basically I was trying to WILD but I thought I had never fallen asleep because of distractions and I got up very irate about it, then my house kind of melted away and I was standing in the yard completely lucid. It was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had dreaming.

I say don't worry about it. I don't think you're any more likely to have a "bad" FA than you are to have a bad dream, so why fear it?
