is insomnia affecting my LD attempts?

i get ~4 hours of sleep on average a day. I function just fine and am used to it and lift extremely heavy. I realize that when i take naps during the day (which is near impossible for me) i get the most eerie experiences with dreams and sleep paralysis which can be a direct result of my sleep deprivation. I do recognize a heavy decline in my dream recall though. Might it be because i'm not getting enough sleep so my memory suffers?

I also realize that when it comes time for a reality check i am just going through the motions. This has also affected my ability to LD, because I feel like i do not want it as bad as i convince myself i do....otherwise i'd be doing everything i can.

As far as insomnia, i am against sleeping meds. I know there are other natural methods though. I've tried meditating immediately before bed (usually 30+ minutes) but i still cannot sleep. Most of the time I am obsessing over my fitness goals that are running through my head, a girl, or just random events throughout the day.

I'm not an expert so don't hold me responsible for anything is say here but ye, i think memory is tied up directly with insomnia.

On the other hand, having daytime sleep paralysis and stuff could be very useful for practicing WILD/MILDs. Do you also happen to see hypnagoic images often before falling asleep?

As for insomnia. Same problem here. Obsessive thoughts keep me awake at night a lot. And not getting enough rest makes it near impossible to remember any dreams both in nightsleep and naps.

I'm also kind of against sleeping meds, but lately i am considering taking some maybe once a week so i get more rest and rem sleep. That might also be an option for you. Another option is ofcourse doing intense training. Perhaps more cardio instead of heavy lifting to tire up the blood flow. That oughta get you knocked at night. I guess the philosophy here is that if you are so fricking worked out you will have no more energy to spend thinking about trivial matters that have nothing to do with lucid dreaming

Don't go obsessing at night over lucid dreaming now, that's where i messed up lol. I stay awake all night thinking about lucid dreaming instead of actually dreaming. Stupid
