I used to wake up in mornings, then lie down and close my eyes for 20 or 30 minutes, and have awareness of my body while dreaming. I would have these long intense kind of light sleep dreams, then I realized I was not dreaming, because I was not fully asleep. What I was doing was actually remembering my dreams from a Deep Dream state from a few hours prior because I was in a meditative state.
We have four basic brainwave frequencies. My hypothesis is that it takes going into an Alpha state (meditative/trance/half-asleep) state to remember our Delta (deep non-REM sleep) dreams, because Alpha is closer to Delta than Beta (full wakefulness.)
No need to feel guilty/bad/embarrassed. No one is accusing you of lying! LOL.
