One thing that seems to be helping me is journaling, and remember specific reality checks. For certain checks, I do them extra thorough, and mindfully. I record the time of day I did them, and what I did. I then replay it several times in my mind. I feel it makes me more self aware, and I had 4 LD's the second night of doing this.

try ADA, you focus on yourself and surroundings frequently till it becomes second nature, so when you're dreaming, you would be more aware and realize the strangeness of the dream.
      Good luck!!!

Be aware. Its as simple as that, you posses the power to become as aware as you possibly can. Where to start? Notice everything, notice the itch on you foot, and how it effects you. Notice and be aware of the sensations given when scratching the itch. When you walk outside, become aware of how different/similar the environment is, what new thought processes are experienced, if any, and what new sensations have aroused. Little things like this could help improve your awareness to satisfaction. Hope this helps!

I highly reccomend to read this: http://www.dreamviews.com/wild/13181...prep-part.html (yes, it's part of a WILD tutorial but it teaches how to increase your self-awareness as a part of successful WILDing). I frequently do those reverse RCs described in this thread and it has helped me a lot.

Also take notes on what you see and how you perceive things and really think about how you affect the things you perceive and how those things affect you.

@LouaiB Yes awareness is handy but doesn't necessarily lead to more lucid dreams if you are totally missing out on your self-awareness which is explained in this tutorial that I posted above Awareness alone helps you to observe your surroundings more thoroughly, but it's important to see YOUR place in the environment. This helps a lot in your dreams because you will realise that everything in your dream is made up by yourself and that you are not bound to the limitations that reality (waking life) presents to you!

Thnx for the explaatio, really. Now I'm trying ADA, can I use it to increase awareness and self-awareness at the same time?

As fas as I'm concerned it's just for your general awareness because all you do is passivly observing your surroundings and paying attention to what's going on - of course this is absolutely great when trying to tell apart your dream world and your waking world, but doesn't really improve your self-awareness (which basically comes down to being aware of your existence and the effects that it has and the things that affect it). You can still modify ADA to suit your needs if you wish!
Personally I practice ADA as much as possible, but I still do MILD (before I go to sleep), the reverse RCs for self-awareness and SAT.... just combine your favourite techniques and see what works best for you, but give it some time and don't get frustrated if you don't see any success after a few days. Be patient.

      Get a power up button:
How To Install a Power-Up Button On Your Body
I started doing this after reading about it and its awesome. The effects become really apparent after using it only for a few days. It's a great way to do a really short meditation that focuses on your awareness.

Besides that, i feel any form of meditation would improve your awareness. Even MILDing and WILDing are basically just meditations. I find that walking meditations give me the most satisfaction, especially out in nature.

Meditate. Daily. It's hard at first. Just 5 mins is fine to start with. Look it up online, there is lots of help and suggestions. As lucidboy says, walking meditations are great (my favourite) anywhere...from a busy high-street, to a walk in the woods...quietly observe and absorb. Rest your mind. But practiced meditations are great for LD'ing. Full mind and body awareness...a lucid dream then becomes a consequence rather then the goal.

It's only the best WILD tutorial you will ever come accross. There are no quick answers. You, yourself need to understand what you doing and why.

I can just tell you how my reverse RC looks, but that won't help you very much if you don't read the tutorial to understand the concept! I just start by becoming aware of my surroundings and just think of the moment and my place in all this space and time around me. Basically I become aware of the fact that there are many things going on at any given moment just like NOW and I figure out what my place is and how this whirling affects me and how I affect the whirling and I try to put all this in some thought of wonder.... for instance how my breath affects the air around me and how without the air I wouldn't be able to breathe or how the photons of light travel at an insanely high speed hitting my eyeballs and being processed by my brain and how the photons get reflected off my eyelids whenever I close them.... these are just two examples of thos countless processes always going on around you without you actually noticing.... so the goal is to become aware of your self in your reality and if all this works out then in your dreams you will be much more able to realise that everything around you is made up by your brain.
But don't totally rely on my words because the tutorial explains it much better and in far greater detail. Read it! It's not only extremly helpful but also great read! I love Sageous' style of writing

By using this method I got 3 LD in just one night. Every time you finish an action and start a new one play in your head what you did the entire day. For exemple, you just had breakfast : I woke up, wrote in my DJ, changed my clothes, brushed my teeth and right now I just took breakfast. Or if its in the end of the day you cand simplify it : I woke up, brushed my teeth, took breakfast, did some jogging, watched some TV, playing some video games, took lunch, visited some friends, went at a club, came home, took dinner, watched TV and now I prepare to go to bed. You can choose any actions you think that are more important if you want to remember less actions. How I said earlier, It got me 3 LD but not because I did a random reality check , because I had a rised level of self awareness. For exemple I`ll write just a LD: In july, in the summer holiday I went to my cousine wedding and have met with one of my teachers who was going to another wedding (we didn't talked, we just saw eachother). So in my dream I was in the first day of school and he said to me : Hi! I saw you at that wedding back in july! What was strange was that I had this dream a week after the wedding and the school was supposed to start after 2 months so I said: Wait a minute! It didnt passed some much time! and I did a reality check and realised that I`m dreaming I wish you goodluck if you choose this method, it works for me!

Thanx for the advice! I read the tutorial. I started using the ADSA. I also read the next part and I found the schema for HI very helpful!!

Benni, you didn't wish me good luck!! Don't ever talk to me again! Ravanoos did, he is my best friend now. You can never fix the damage you did, Benni!!

Glad to hear that, mate ) And by the way, if you choose to use my method I have a tip : If you don't remember all what you did from the morning to the evening (assuming that you play the day in your mind at the evening) it does not matter, just start with the last thing you remember, it works like this too

Oh no I'm terribly sorry, how did I dare not wishing you good luck?! I assumed that you didn't need luck because if you try hard enough then the success will be on your side - no need for such things as luck! I just trust your abilities hehehe.

@ravanoos this technique sounds really interesting. Whenever I RC I always think back a little but not in this way and not so extensively - might expand my RCs a little! Thanks!
