Congratulations! Good job, mate!
I've already done most of the ins and outs of lucid dreaming, but a couple of weeks ago I had my first successful MILD in a long time. MILD has never really worked for me and I think it has to do with my rather pessimistic mindset, but that night--and I didn't even plan to MILD--I just had this boost of confidence that made me say, "YEAH! I'm gonna have a lucid dream tonight, I can feel it!" I kept going on about it in my head as I was falling asleep, and needless to say, I lucid dreamed that night. 
Since then I've tried to keep up my confident mindset and found that I'm getting lucid dreams more often than usual. I'm quite proud of it! I think it just goes to show that sometimes following tutorials word-by-word or trying to do it a very certain way just might not work--you need to alter it and improvise and find what works for you.
