After doing a reality check, should I tell myself that I am awake/not dreaming right now?

I heard some people say that after you do a reality check, you should tell yourself that you are not dreaming right now or tell yourself that you are awake right now.

I have also heard people say that you should do the opposite and don't tell yourself that you're awake/not dreaming after a reality check.

Can someone please tell me which would be the correct thing to do?

The point of practicing reality check in waking life for them to start happening in a dream, where it will confirm that you are in a dream and lucid. But if you think "I'm awake", then that feeling will start happening in your dreams. And even if you do RC, your mind will tell you "I'm awake", because that's what you have been practicing.

      This is what I recommend:

When practicing RCs + awareness, you should ask yourself if you are dreaming, but never finish with "no, I'm not". Just skip that answer, do some RCs and mantras.
