Why Has No One Tried This Advice?

There are some simple things a person should definitely be able to do in their dream which would make having more lucid dreams much easier.

Character Induced Lucid Dreams

You may have heard about Character Induced Lucid Dreams. A dream character tells you you're dreaming, and you become lucid. I've already searched this forum, and people have said that--through no effort on their part--a character told them they were dreaming and became lucid. Though, no one ever mentioned creating a dream character in one dream, and having said character make them lucid the next. If you've done this and you're out there, please share because I didn't find anyone who did.

So, why not create a dream character that would make you lucid every time? It's not the craziest idea I've heard you can do in dreams, and making characters is apparently possible and easy with certain techniques from what I've read about.

However, in my searches, I didn't see this as a recommended technique either due to lack of popularity, or that you have to already be lucid for it to work. But if it did work, think of all the time it would save you.

Ask Your Subconscious the Best Technique

I doubt anyone would argue you can't communicate with your subconscious while lucid. People have even used lucid dreaming to learn secrets about themselves from their subconscious. A very common question is what your dream job is. So why not ask your subconscious these very practical questions that would seriously shorten the learning curve?

1) Why haven't I been able to have lucid dreams before?
2) What mistakes have I been making?
3) Which techniques work the best for me?
4) Can I program my mind to be a master lucid dreamer? (Similar to subliminal messaging, though, with varying results, it does actually work. And since you're interacting directly with your subconscious, it should definitely work)
5) Can I invent a technique that will make me lucid every time I use it?

I can go on and on with varying questions, but here's what sounds like the absolute most practical advice anyone should do when they have their first lucid dream: ask their subconscious these questions, and make a dream character that will help make you lucid every time.

Now, I'm not asking if any of this works. I'll let my own experiences be the judge when I can finally try it. And I'm not saying no one has ever done these things (those who have either haven't mentioned it, or I failed to find their shared experiences). I'm only asking for experiences others may have with this. And that this advice sounds very practical and very possible, and would save a lot of trial and error.

There are quite a few people that mention consistent DCs that always let them know that it is a dream, but every chance that I have seen of people trying to have a DC always come to them has seemed to not work. But most of them are beginners in dream control, because most experts at dream control are experts atiinducing as well. My advice! If it sounds good to you, do it.

maybe try incubating it at first and then make the DC consistent and then make them with you through all dreams not just lucid. And then use him as a constant RC (or her... But having girls constantly in lucids might make it hard to get things done

Lots of people create DGs that are DCs that they ask these questions and (I believe) through expectation make what they say true.

The best part about this is that you can try all this.

let me know if you are gonna be doing these experiments. I have my own in dream and out of dream goals that I hope will make me always lucid, if one of them succeeds I'll let you know.

Yes, that's the plan: to make that dream character appear in all dreams, lucid or not. Even if it doesn't work every time, it would seriously increase your chances for becoming lucid.

I read about dream guides, too. Some books classify them as the few dream characters that have this uncanny awareness about how the dream world works, and you can consult them. I'm thinking that's easier than simply asking the dream itself and waiting for an answer to appear in some random way.

I'd seriously appreciate that, thanks. And yes, when I have my first lucid dream where I'm actually in control, I plan to try all this. Also, I have to make sure to ask how to lengthen my dreams. If we could extend dreams to last days, or at least hours, we could be so much more efficient in the things we could do.

The second I get results, I'll be sure to post it. Let's see who makes it first

I'm willing to bet the difficulty may lie less in the task, and more in the method. Some people can fly as easily as they can walk, while others need a little help. I think it's more about finding a way that's more comfortable to them. For example: some people can will themselves to fly and they do. Others need a different approach like a magic word, or imagine their feet are rockets. All I can say from what little experience I have is that intention is the most important step.

You could create a door and open it to find a dream character. That's one method I read for making DCs. Or, like my aforementioned question, ask your subconscious. Try and decide on a method beforehand. Maybe you receive a text, a book appears and you read the answer; stuff like that. Thanks for sharing!

Yup, I think you're probably right about finding the right method. I've tried doors, and calling out for the person, and even pulling them out of a wall (that almost worked. They were just a lifeless doll). I'll plan out several methods ahead of time and try each one and see how that works out.
