Exclamation GOT MY FIRST LUCID DREAM!! But I have a question?!?!!?

Hi my name is jake and Last Night I got my first LD EVER!!! Well first that lasted more than 5 seconds. it was amazing but Was i really lucid dreaming. The dream started with me leaving school going to my car with my friend and when we got to my car it was a bus and i hate riding the bus so I thought to my self do RC so I did the one where you hold your nose and try to breathe and it worked so I was like OMG!! Cool so i ran from my car to the street next to me and said I'm gonna try and fly so I did and it worked it was amazing it was soo cool but at starters i was kind of aware and things were pretty vivid but as the dream progressed i lost vivdness and I think lucidity so i flew back to my school and just started flying randomly but i didn't really mean too like i don't think i was in control of my actions so to speak. Like I remember thinking to myself i'm gonna do this and i'm gonna do that but like wasn't in control of my body so was this a real LD or was it a dream about LD Thank you so much and either way it is real progress considering i have been trying to LD since Last October Thanks A lot (:

Sounds like a low awareness LD, but a LD nonetheless. Definitely at the start anyway. Congrats!! It is a great feeling. Try grounding yourself a bit more next time to heighten your awareness, let the initital euphoria subside and postpone your adventures for 10 seconds or so, while you engage with your surroundings. Take a bit of time to look around you, really grasp the scene, remind yourself it is a dream again, feel the ground or any other textures around you. Perhaps try spinning yourself around a couple of times with your eyes open, this can further solidify the dream and can act as a catalyst for greater awareness.

You will get lucid again tonight, I believe it!

      CONGRATS!!!

It sounds to me like you were lucid, but then lost lucidity. I've had that happen to me in previous LDs. But it sounds like you are well on your way.

This is really good advice right here.

Also do not close your eyes in your dreams haha

You have to work on your grammar next time, SuperBeta. I almost didn't notice where exactly your question was, and it was a little hard for me to read.

Yes, though, you had a lucid dream. As long as you know you're dreaming, it counts as a lucid dream. But since you lost control quickly, you have to work on mentally preparing yourself to be calm when you realize you're dreaming. The best way to accomplish that is to pretend you're lucid dreaming, and act calmly upon realization. That way, after repeating it so many times in your mind, you'll be ready for the real thing and won't lose control.

Haha yeah I don't have the best grammar, but I was in a hurry and I needed to get done quickly so grammar wasn't really the first thing on my mind. Sorry bout that.
