Not been practicing LD for about 10 months now need help.

So I did the one thing I said I wouldn't do, I gave up learning to lucid dream and now I really need some advice on how to get back into it stuff to keep me very motivated and so on. I had been practicing for about a nearly a year when I stopped I was making some progress but not much, this maybe why I quit? I had a LD some time ago maybe about a month completely random but once again, a common theme with me I knew I was dreaming yet I had no control and I just followed the dream as it went on until I lost what little consciousness I had. So like I said I need something that will help me stick at it this time, there are things I really want to do in a LD and my life isn't going that great at the moment and I feel that the only way I can really sort it out is to ask my sub-conscious why I am like I am and maybe along the way I can find out what I really want to do in my life and not to mention I may learn some more skills though this, so yeah, any advice would be great thanks.

Don't worry, a lot of us have done this before, it just takes a little time to get back in shape.

Read your past dream journal entries and other people's DJ's on here for motivation. Do you have a book, video game, or movie that you really like? You can visit the characters and the world it takes place in. Maybe start a list of things you'd like to do and places you would like to visit in LDs.

You might want to join the DreamViews Skype Group Chat, if you use skype a lot it can be a good way to keep up practice: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...nterested.html

Two dream journals on here that are good for motivation and inspiration:

      Good advice from Mismagius.

I'm in the same situation. I was not actively pursuing LDing for a couple of years (as you can tell by my number of LDs over the past 2 years shown in my signature below) My advice: Read, Read, Read on this site and maybe buy a book. This helped to get me motivated

      Total LDs (some very brief) = 2004: 4 * 2005: 18 * 2006: 16 * 2007: 2 * 2008: 0 * 2009: 0 * 2010: 1 * 2011: 12 * 2012: 3 * 2013: 1 * 2014: 6 * 2015: 1 * 2016: 0 * 2017: 18 * 2018: 3 * 2019: 0 (so far)

I recently have gotten back into it after almost the exact same situation happened to me. When I first learned about LDing I was pumped, and I was pumped for like 8-9 months. In this time I only had 3 LDs, and my motivation took a real hit. I stopped for a few months, and I've been back at it for a couple of weeks. I basically started over, but added in a few motivation boosters. The biggest of these is coming on here. I try to get on as often as I can, and stay active. Also, I created a workbook on the intro class, and I try to post on there at the end of every day. I feel like in these past couple of weeks, I've made more progress then I did in all of that time before I took a break.

Keep yourself involved in the community.

Not just here, but everywhere the pertains to the topic of lucid dreaming.

Staying involved is the best way to keep with it.

I was like you, and fell out of the loop a few days after I signed up for the website. I wasn't interested and had other things on my mind.

I got an email from this site a few months ago for God knows what, but I stuck with it this time.

Buy a book, as I may suggest "A Field Guide to Lucid Dreaming".

It has a lot of beginner content, but I learned a thing or two from it. It has interesting theories and concepts as well.
