      Did I get Lucid?

Hey guys! New here, and I've been practicing at trying to get lucid for a few weeks now with little to no success. But last night all's I did before bed was tell myself "I will be aware when I'm dreaming," and when I started to drift off I could almost feel myself entering a dream, but every time I did it, a tingly feeling came over me and I became more aware. And about a week ago, I had a casual dream until the very end, my dad and I were arguing about a couch, and then I felt that strange tingly feeling again, like when your arm is asleep, but all over my body, I also felt slightly aware but just barely, and I finally woke up. Had I gotten lucid?

Also, sorry if this is in the wrong section, new to this forum! Thanks!

From your description it is hard to tell if you were lucid. From my experience, when I become lucid there is no question in my mind because I have this kind of reaction (in my dream): HEY I'M DREAMING!!! Along with a strong feeling of excitement.

Lucidity is when you realize that you are actually in a dream. There are levels of lucidity. You can have high levels (where you have a high level of control over everything in your dream world, and all sensory input is very high) or very low (where you have issues with control, your senses feel dulled, and you often fall back into the theme of the dream).

      I hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll try to be more in depth next time! I guess I hadn't been lucid at all, but I'm almost certain that my dream self had questioned if I was dreaming or not, and that's when I got that tingly feeling and woke up. Thanks again!

Even if you didn't get lucid this time, you had some more awareness than normally. I bet that's because of your practice.

I know some people refer to "levels of lucidity". I like to think of that more like "levels of awareness". Since you either lucid (you know you are dreaming), or you not. But other things may depend on your level of awareness. Meaning, how much of your waking life you remember, is the dream fuzzy or crystal clear, details, and other parameters.

So I would say, keep practicing, check out our tutorials if you had not done so yet, keep your excitement up and get that lucid! Happy dreams
