      Problem when lucid

I've just started lucid dreaming about a month ago and have had 5 lucid dreams. In each I would walk around for a couple of seconds then my eyes would be forced shut and I would have difficulty opening them and would have trouble moving comepletely. After this I would either wake up or stay asleep, anyone know why? I've tried many stabilization techniques but to no success. I got through it once but it happened again and I couldn't stop it.

This might sound a little "much," but you might consider (during your waking hours) to do some walking and other simple activities with your eyes closed. I am not talking about a large amount of time here. (15 mins broken up into a few minutes here and there is plenty) You'll truly feel every motion you make.

This practice builds synchronicity among the senses, reminds the body how important your vision is (to function at its best) and also builds a kind of trust in "knowing" that you're still capable of doing something and thanking your other senses for being so affective.

We can all imagine what it would be like to be blind (to a degree). I'd say the odds are good that at least a handful of souls on this forum have lived at least one "past life," blind.

At any rate, I know of some different folks who had a similar problem as yours, Cale and this method worked well for them.

I can't remember where the method came from. It was one of these:

      Hope it helps!

The "fast lane" is walking backwards (obviously in a wide open space)

I even do it on a running machine! :p

      Congrats on the lucids!

It could be a negative expectation, if you can, try to just continue on with the dream. That may be difficult if you have trouble moving but you can still listen to and smell your surroundings.

I also like obmij's suggestion, in addition to his advice you might want to try walking with your eyes open and observing everything. Think along the lines of "I have no vision problems in waking life, so I won't in my dreams either"

They talk about dream blindness and give a lot of great advice in this episode of the DreamViews podcast: http://www.dreamviews.com/dreamviews...-sleepers.html

Totally agree with the above. And I had forgotten to add that the closed eye affect tends to bring the above out more....again, best of luck.
