Question Notebook or Phone for dream Journal?

Hey. So I have been writing my dream journals in my notebook but my handwriting isn't the best, and I would usually have to turn on a light too. I am kinda a noob at LD but I know that it is good to read your dreams and see what things are reoccurring so you can figure out when you are dreaming. I never did this because it was hard to read my writing and I was also kinda lazy. I found a nifty app for my phone that lets me write a dream journal every morning, and it will show you what words are used the most and also can use hashtags. I was really excited to use it since I could see dream patterns, but was disappointed after trying it the morning after because it was hard for me to type out my dream on the smartphone keyboard.

So now I am torn between going back to using a paper notebook and using the dream journal app. BTW the app name is Awoken and I extremely recommend it if you are comfortable using a smartphone keyboard.
Any ideas on what one I should use?

Some say that a written one is more personal and, therefore, better at improving recall and whatnot, but I've always found the difference to be negligible, if not non-existent. So, go with whatever works best for you. So long as its recorded in some way, it should be alright. Personally, I use my laptop and type it up.

The app could prove more useful for recognizing dream signs, though.

I honestly find it easier to just use my phone. I have never felt a difference in recall between paper or not, but i only do tags, not a full DJ, because it takes hours to type up all my dreams if I want them to be descriptive. Less tike lately, but it is moving back up.

I have a 3 step process. Wgen i wake up, i pull out my phone and text my dream to myself. I try to be as fast but as unserstanding as possible so i dont forget anything. I then get ready for work and when i have time, i transfer it over to the computer (this site), editing any mistakes and adding better grammar. Last, i make a final copy on my journal with all mistakes and errors corrected. Maybe try that? Essentially imake a rough draft, final draft, and theN a publishing copy

I use an audio recording app for andoid (Smart Voice Recorder) to record some quick notes in the middle of the night or in more detail when I wake up. I then type them to Evernote (Nice app for Dream Journaling).
Problem is... I get lazy and the dreams just keep pilling up in the audio app.

I use Lucidity on Android and use the microphone function on the Google stock keyboard and I just say what I want and it types it for me. If you have an older version of Android that doesn't support dictation on the stock keyboard, you might be able to find one in Google Play that does.

Thanks for the info guys! How useful is the dream journal on this forum? Is there any reason to use it instead of the app on my phone?
@TankTan38 - How good is Lucidity? It seems very similar to Awoken, but it looks like it has a few more features. How well does the keyboard understand your voice? I feel like it would make a few grammar mistakes.
