Question Writing I will lucid dream over and over on a notebook

If you write ''I will lucid dream'' on a notebook many times on one or more pages and maybe read it as well, would that be a chance of lucid dreaming

Well it would help reinforce the concept of lucid dreaming in your mind and probably wouldn't hurt your odds but I wouldn't count on that alone to get you there. People also tend to have more success LDing when repeating to themselves before bed the mantra "I will have a lucid dream tonight." It keeps it in your mind but without doing everything else you need to do (Dream Journal, Reality Checks) it's probably not going to do anything. Combined with those things, I would think it would increase your odds somewhat.

By writing that down it helps your brain realize you want to lucid dream. If you do write it down try to make it the only thing you're thinking about. As well as the last thing you think about before falling asleep. This will help you lucid dream over time. It's called MILD in case you didn't know.

I tried it beofre along with "I will reality check" at least 50 times each, and didn't even remember a dream... But maybe my opinion shouldn't count till I actually have a lucid dream, since it probably works better telling yourself you will have a lucid if you know what it actually feels like.

I have written it down and used a mantra with success. I would recommend doing a mantra at the very least.

      What they said.
It should help by reinforcing the idea, and by keeping the concept fresh in your mind.
I believe you would get similar success just by reading DV forums all day, and then saying the words before bed. "I will have a lucid dream, now."

I read somewhere about it being better to do mantras in the present tense.

So would it be better to have "I lucid dream" or "I will lucid dream"

it had something to do with the subconscious only works in the present tense, anyone know if it is really true, because if it is having "will" in the mantras might screw yourself over.

I did this for a bout a year. It seemed to work well for a few months but stopped working after a while. My advice is to try it for two weeks and see what happens.

I've heard this as well and it isn't true. For all my MILDs I had a mantra with the word will in it. "the next time I am dreaming I will realize that I am dreaming".

I agree with MoSh. Try it and see if it works for you.
