I wouldn't worry about them not working anymore, I've probably done over a thousand nose-pinch reality checks and they always work while dreaming. However, you should take care not to let reality checking become a mindless habit that you do without paying it any attention. Whether this might be a problem or not depends on the check, but if you were to do the nose-pinch check by habit without actually thinking about it you might not notice even when it's positive. Other than that, I think that the more reality checks, the better. |

If you're too concerned that they are too much (every ten seconds?!!!) then you might consider switching to a mindfulness approach where you are continuously aware of yourself and your surroundings. You might add to that critical thinking but just being mindful also works. With more practice, you'll ideally obtain a feeling of slight detachment and greater clarity of mind through the day. Hope that makes sense! |

To be honest I don't know about everyone else BUT for me RC actually prevent me from LD....I have been able to LD since I was a kid easily but now that I know how many techniques and RC there are my God! I decided like a month ago to try a few techniques and I was doing like 10 RC a day I want to make my LD stronger but for that whole month I did not have ANY LD and then this week I was like ehhh whatever don't worry about it and GUESS what I have LD every night this week! Try no to pressure yourself so much sometimes just wanting it will make it happen that how it works for me. |
