      Embarking on my lucid journey

      Hi everyone,

Until yesterday I had never been aware of lucid dreaming, or the possibilities it held.

Yesterday, whilst browsing around online I came across the term, and it's meaning. I then spent the remainder of my working day researching about lucid dreams and dream recall.

I am extremely exited to start my lucid dreaming adventure, from research I decided the first step was to practice dream recall.

So last night before bed, I set up a dream journal and told myself repeatedly that I would remember my dream.

I don't usually have too much luck with dreaming, as I normally don't remember them, but sure enough when I awoke in the morning I lay still in bed and recalled 2 dreams from the night, 1 was extremely brief and the other was fairy brief, here's what I wrote...

'Panning through a shallow stream following a fish, there is a man commentating, like a film or a documentary.
Ended up in a big water opening as myself (I am petrified of open water, yet I was very calm). I was surrounded by tropical fish, but there were two that I appeared interested in, one was a small yellow fish and the other was a slightly larger blue and white fish. I kept on pushing the two tropical fish to the top of the water for some time.
After a while I brought myself to the top of the water, it's then that I appear to be watching myself swim on a laptop.

I look down at the clock on the laptop it read '09:70', I realised I was late for collage, I rushed to collage in my gym cloths, when I got outside it was very dark, I knew something was amiss so I checked the time, it read '8:40'.

Knowing I wasn't late I went back to what I seemed to believe was an empty hose,
I went back inside and noticed the patio door was open and mom was in the kitchen cooking something, I explained to her the situation.
She told me that she thought she would be working but instead was off to take 'you two' to school.'

Although this dream wasn't particularly interesting, compared to my usual dreams it was very vivid and I was able to recall it fairly well!

I am very exited for tonight and to see if I can recall tonight's dream(s) any better!

Thank you for reading, I look forward to embarking on this journey with you all

Good luck Jake! Keep us updated on how you go.

Just remain consistent and follow the techniques outlined on this website and others. It is likely that your first lucid dreaming will be quick, unfulfilling and you won't know quite what to do, but it will give you the motivation to keep going and with practice you will have some amazing experiences...it's kind of like sex really.
