      My Lucid Journey: An Introduction

Hey all! I've been lucid dreaming for about 1.5 years and have slowly but surely gained new abilities and increased lucidity along the way. I struggle to control what I would call 'the fundamentals' and am left with many, many questions. I don't expect to find answers and I'm not avidly searching. With my limited intellect I know that life won't make sense anytime soon.

I come here not for answers but for the community and partly because I felt a calling. I've visited lucid dreaming forums before but none captured my attention as swiftly as this one has. I have felt somewhat alone in my lucid journey thus far and have been longing for the social experience I find in my 'waking life.' I have met a character or two who seemed an entity of its own accord however my experiences have been few and far between. I hope that with this community I am able to continue my lucid journey at an accelerated pace and live life to the fullest.

I can already tell that this community is filled with friendly 'neighbors' and helpful people. Thank you in advance for your time! I'm sure I'll have a great time here!

      Typho,
Great recommendation. I have been keeping a dream journal and will select a few entries from it to post within the next few weeks or so.

      KingYoshi,
Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm glad to be here!

Question, so I feel as though I am not ready to meet my Dream Guide as I am still improving my waking-reality actions as well as lucid-reality actions. As of late I've been getting much better at feeling and I've concluded that I'm just not ready yet. I'd still like to do other important lucid 'tasks' that are not just trivial and fun (I can come up with those on the spot). Anyways, so I've heard talk about a dream object and that it's important to possess a certain object in both realities. Is this common? Should I be looking for this object? Are there any particular places I should visit? I'm not sure what I am suppose to be doing in my lucid experiences..

Annnnyyyybody? Or are we all either lost or confused? Or both? I love aimlessly wandering in lucid dreams and having 'out-of-this-reality' experiences but I want a little bit of direction. I'll take anyone's advice here.

Also, newb-boob question here, but anyways, is there a way to edit your font style that you use so that it will stay that way without having to change it every time?

Y'know something like: Using this type of style without having to 'set it up' every single time I post.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to do this, I just spent 5 or so minutes trying to figure it out and couldn't. Gaaaa...

I'm not sure why you should feel like you're not ready to meet your DG. I'm also not sure about the object thing. Unless the idea is the object ends up in most of your dreams and it triggers a reality check. Like you would keep a purple ball with you all the time in waking life and it would be in most of your dreams eventually. You would also do reality checks every time you see the purple ball, so you will remember to reality check when you see it in your dreams. Never heard of this, but I'm just making a guess. I also don't think there are any places in your dreams you should visit other than what you think would be most fun. You could go swimming through Atlantis, fly through space, go to Pandora, Walmart, etc. Really wherever you've always wished you could go. Personally, I think your main goal while lucid should just be to have fun. I'm not sure if there is a way to make a color style stay everytime you start a new post. I just take the 2 clicks to reach purple.

I'm surprised no one tried to answer these questions.

      Hahaha, @ the purple comment

What I meant about the dream object is that I want to find an object that I posses in both 'waking' life and 'dreaming' life, like a shard, or a staff, or something. I'm not sure why I want this or what purpose it would serve, just have a feeling. I don't need to do reality checks, I can recognize dreams pretty well -- they are quite 'dream-like.'

Well I don't see any other reason to look for an object in a dream.

Hmm, maybe to induce WILDS by snuggling with it?

A dream guide is a recurring dream character that is more intelligent than most dream characters and gives you advice. Some people think that it is your subconscious or a spirit manifesting itself in your dreams. They know a lot more about dreams than you or any other dream character knows. They can help you with dream problems, problems in your waking life, emotions, etc. Dream Views definition: Dream Guide
