      Does lucid dreaming become easier?

Does lucid dreaming become easier the more time that you have spent being lucid? Or have you just had to find a technique that fits you?

I've only been at it for 6 weeks and it felt easy to become lucid within the first few weeks having 5 lds and many dreams close to being lucid. But lately I have had a hard time even when obvious stuff like a dream sign pops up, I even dreamed about going to a lucid dreaming school to learn and diddnt question it once.

Just don't get discouraged, continue your practice, and be wary of anyone who tells you they have all the answers (because they don't!). Keep up your day work and nightly practice, remind yourself of what you want to accomplish while lucid, and find other things about practice you can enjoy (besides the LDs) so you don't run yourself down. You have plenty of LDing potential and just need to consistently unlock it. Nothing will do this but work.

The easiest way to LD is to have already LDed. Experience is king.

"The degree of awareness one is able to achieve while in a dream is in direct proportion to the degree of awareness one experiences in waking life."

      - 'D.G.' ; from the book "Exploring The World Of Lucid Dreaming"

This sentence was spoken by D.G. in the middle of a lucid dream.

I do believe it becomes easier. After having got started and having not been practising for a few months, when I came back at it I had a hard time, I spent three full months with no lucids at all despite the practise. Then all of sudden I started having at least two or three lucids a month and I hope it to continue increasing. You just need to stick to it, sooner or later it'll come.

In direct answer to the question, I think the answer is "no, it does not become easier" -- it always takes effort and strong intent to get lucid and to recall dreams. But, over time, with continued effort, exploration/experimentation, and determination/dedication, lucidity comes more and more frequently, and the quality of the lucidity improves.

The summary is: keep working on it, never quit, and it gets better and better over time.

To give an analogy, it is like shooting a basketball (full analogy will be posted in audio forum in a day or so). It doesn't get easier to put the ball in the hole, but you get better at it, as well as knowing better where to shoot from.

While it doesn't become easier (diligent practice, concentration and determination are always required), over time you will have more vivid lucid dreams more often.

I agree with the others here. Experience is key to help remember them. Sometimes, I wake up knowing I was lucid but can't recall the dream itself.

There have been times where I went for weeks without a lucid dream and then I get bursts of lucid dreams all in a matter of days. Last week, I had two lucid dreams within two days.

Don't feel discouraged. Just keep persistent with your reality checks.

One thing that I noticed that works best for me is just using only one reality check, rather than a bunch. I used to do two or three reality checks and then I realized it was too much to commit to habit and my subconscious memory.

I now just keep one reality check and it has been my go-to key for getting lucid.
