Did I become lucid? You decide...

I'm not sure but I may have become lucid. I'll tell you all what happened and you decide. I have been reading Robert Bruce's Mastering Astral Projection for 2 weeks now and decided to listen to the Lucid Dreaming mp3 mid-afternoon 1 day earlier than suggested. I dozed off.

I had a dream that I astrally projected from my body. I had a dream in which I was doing what I wanted to do. Moving along my bed and doing so, attempting to move off my bed and levitating a bit etc. But were these desires part of the dream? In the dream I thought I had astrally projected at first but when I woke up I decided it MAY have been a lucid dream instead because I hadn't been been trying to project and there were things extra & missing in the room. Also, in the dream I was lying ton my back but when I woke up I was on my stomach.

During the dream I was convinced that I had projected(not that I was dreaming) because the setting was in my room and the things happening early in the dream like body vibrations and exit techniques. I had excellent dream recall.

      So whats your opinion?

It wasn't a lucid dream because you weren't aware you were dreaming during the dream.

Unfortunately, this is a problem that comes with practicing astral projection alongside lucid dreaming. A lucid dream is a dream in which you know you are dreaming. You don't have to have control of yourself or your surroundings (though you can), but you just have to know that everything you are experiencing is a dream. The thing about practicing astral projection is that, whenever you have those experiences where you feel you are physically projecting out of your body, you are not aware that everything going on around you is just a dream (that you could control if you wanted to).

Bare in mind that this is from the perspective of someone who believes that most - if not all - astral projections are simply very convincing dreams.

The point is that, if you are without the explicit knowledge that you are in a dream state (and not in an astral state, experiencing 'reality' but in an intangible form), then you are not lucid dreaming.
