should one try to lucid every night?

Hey guys, what is the fine line between setting great realistic goals, and just plain overdoing it?

I've had some of my best lucids right after getting discouraged early in the morning from not even being able to recall anything...
then theres times where my mind is on point--awareness heightened, total recall, both prospective and retrospective, with strong intent, no stress, and good sleep--only to dream about one of my bosses yelling "False Awakening!!!" and not even go lucid....

I read somewhere that one shouldnt practice every day...or every night....how do you guys feel about this?

Did someone say my name^^ haha k that wasn't funny but in my opinion I think its a good goal to set and its an achievable one aswell the only thing that you should really consider is how you are going to achieve this if you planned to be focusing on techniques which involve alot of loss of sleep then no its not ideal and would most likely not happen because sleep is key, but some people claim to be lucid every night from awareness techniques and other things along those lines which i would imagine would have no adverse affects.
So yea basically the answer depends on you, do you have time to practice every night and day that is the real question.. If so then YES!! get lucid every night

The fine line between setting great realistic goals and just plain overdoing it is the moment negative thoughts creep into your mind while pursuing your goals.

dolphin is absolutely right on this one. As long as failing doesn't upset you too much, go ahead and practice every night. You should definitely being doing your daily practice every day (awareness, reality checks), and autosuggestion every night certainly doesn't hurt ("I will lucid dream tonight!"). Your sleep schedule (how much you get) will determine whether or not you want to WBTB and attempt WILD every night.

If any practice causes you to lose sleep, weigh the possibility of becoming lucid against being fresh in the morning. Depends on what is more important to you (and no, I am not calling you a sissy if you want the sleep--I need tons to feel normal!)
