Was I close to having an OBE exit?

Hey guys - earlier today I tried having a nap to attempt a WILD since I only got like 5 hours of sleep last night. I got pretty far but still no success, but one weird thing happened which I kinda feel like got me closer than I've been before.

I was waiting for the sleep paralysis "feeling" to come back after I slightly shifted position and it did within seconds. Only this time, and I have literally no idea why, I had a different sensation. I felt the pillow against my face but it almost felt like I was laying at the bottom of a pool or something and could "swim to the top." So I laid there and this idea just popped into my head, and so I kind of imagined my body "swimming" up and up and up and eventually I could have very well believed I was floating a few feet above my bed if I could see anything. The thing is I didn't want to open my eyes because I was afraid I'd open my real eyes and wake up (and I even had a very brief, but pretty realistic vision of what it would have looked like if I was really "swimming" in the air above my bed). After that brief visual I was sort of jolted back into my physical body and was back to square one.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Or could anyone give me tips on what to do if I get this again so that I may have a successful WILD?

      Thanks for reading

Hi! Its really hard to say was it close to obe or lucid dreaming since our mind like to play tricks on us when falling asleep. I have had these types of expriences dozens of times and i have opened my eyes many times and allmost allways i have been awake. Next time when you do this dont get excited if you feel yourself seperating or feel any other things. Just observe whats happening until you are out of your body or in a dream. You will know your dreaming when you or having a obe when you can see. I like to think to think that you mind is just checking if you are a sleep by making you feel these things. I have had genuine obe few times and the sensations never have meant anything only when im out i know if i was close. So remember next time that you mind is just checking if you are asleep. Also even if you suddenly feel jolted back and awake dont give up it also is mind playing a tricks. Just patiencly wait for dream or the obe starts.

Alright that sounds like pretty solid advice, I'll try to just stay focused next time and see where it takes me. Thanks for the info!
