What is the longest dream you ever had?

Wether this be a lucid dream or a normal dream, what is the longest dream you have ever gotten?
How long did it feel like and were you able to recreate this or was it just a pure accident?

I've heard stories before about people spending a whole day in a dream (atleast it felt like it).
      What is your story?

Once, I had a dream I was on a ship, then it got caught in a storm and I speant what felt like months building a shelter, minecraft style, and eventually setting off to sea again and I go to Mossdeep City in the pokemon universe. It was amazing. Like seeing myself in fast forward mode.

I'd probably have to go with the second dream in this DJ entry. Not only is it long in the sense that there is a ton of detail put into the entry, but the dream itself felt like it took up a good half hour from start to finish. Though it was broken up with false awakenings and forgotten bits, it definitely felt like the longest dream that I ever had.

I think that the concept of time can be heavily eschewed by dreams.

I had a dream the other night where there seemed to be a strong correlation between objective and subjective time. Best guess is it was about 30 minutes and it was just chock full of minutiae.

On the other hand I had a dream a couple weeks ago that if I had to guess was only 5 or so minutes of objective time but spanned a couple of days of subjective time. Go figure...

That must have been a weird feeling/experience. Sounds really cool.

Wow, I just read it and it's like you were writing in your DJ while experiencing it.
      So much detail.

I never had a dream where there was a long period of time compacted in a small period, where you sort of fast forward.
It sounds really cool, I hope it will happen one day for me also.

It hard to gauge how long time felt in dreams, but normally my dreams last between 2:30 hours and 3:30 hours, I tend to continue dreaming from one REM stage to another without waking up. I would say, IRL time, the longest was 4 hours and 15 minutes. Normally before these long dream sessions I wake up just before them and see the time, I also know it is very typical that when I fall asleep after waking up at that time I slip directly into a dream. My only problem is turning that into an actual successful WILD. All these super long dreams are nonlucid. However, my DC and stabalisation is really good I think I could have 3 hour lucid dreams, if only I could induce them.

I experience instantaneous setting changes as if time were passing by, but I am never convinced that my dreams were actually lasting anything more than a few minutes. I would compare my dreams to how a movie plays. 15 minutes of a movie can express 3 days of events, but it was still only 15 minutes of experiences. That is how my dream feels if that makes any sense!

Do you remember doing a reality check in those dreams once?
And I think they are seperate dreams but they just continue where they left of.
That's what I got out of it.
But if it's not and you can lucid dream, then that would be the most awesome thing ever!

Do you still get all the information of the 3 days that you would dream of, like it's fast forwarded but you still know what exactly happened?
Or is it like you say as in a movie that you just 'skip' non important parts?

Same here GetDreaming; my dreams that feel hours long are in hindsight just a collection of key events that my subconscious pieced together to form a coherent story. I remember an NLD that felt like 6 hours but I only remember the start, the end, and some 'snapshots' of events in between. I don't have detailed info of the entire 6 hours of the dream story; I just have a general idea of the plot.

I don't recall any dreams I've had that felt like they lasted more than about 45–60 minutes in experienced time max, although I often have false memories of things that happened “before” the dream started.

I once had a dream that felt like it lasted an entire night, but the dream was about me waking up briefly several times during a long night and going back to sleep, so the total experienced time in that dream was probably only a few minutes.

My longest lucid dream was around 30 minutes. For me it felt like a few hours long. I was experimenting with 4mg of Galantamine with 250 mg of Choline bitrate after 5 hours of sleep.

This combination of supplements boosts and maintains higher acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter) levels in your brain. Acetylcholine promotes REM sleep, and improves memory.

While taking these supplements I had some of the most vivid dreams I have ever had, with greater control and my dream recall was excellent. Before that experience, most of my lucid dreams had been relatively short (between 5-15 minutes) with varying degrees of control and recall.

I had a dream that, through false memories, was an entire lifetime. That was weird. I have no clue how long it lasted in real life. Looking back, I skipped around a bit and the fake memories filled in the details.

I've had instances where my dreams have been extended due to frequent false awakenings. I love to pull myself back in by spinning the moment I notice the dream begin to blur. Spinning is habitual for me now enabling me to control the duration quite well. I've had dreams that felt as if they lasted a day, but that false perception still perplexes me. I usually awaken and notice it has only been two hours...
