I am generally resistant to supplements and medication. I feel no effects or it takes high doses to get the intended effects.

For dreaming, I have experimented with melatonin, b6, 5htp, many teas, alchohol, and foods that are said to affect dreaming. Results have been sporadic and inconsistent. I have never taken anything that I can say "wow, that works good".

I made a recent order to amazon for some meditation books and other things, and decided to buy choline too since none of the local stores had it.

Now leading up to my choline use, my dreaming has been far too lazy for consistent lucid dreams. My dream journal has only had a dream or two a night for the past couple of weeks and I am not waking enough or putting enough effort into my dreaming as I usually do. I have been doing a couple of affirmations before bed still, and when I wake during the night I do a lazy MILD reliving a dream in my head until I fall asleep.

Well when I woke up at 3 am for my "are you dreaming?" alarm, I decided to take a recommended dose of choline after using the bathroom. Back to bed, and I am soon dreaming and become lucid for a short period. I ask the dc's what is their purpose. They look at me emotionless. Bam, false awakening and I do not reality check, and lose my lucidity. I check a digital clock in the dream, but only once I do not re check so my reality check opportunity is lost.

Some time later I enter another dream and remember watching the people around me and just thinking either I don't know these people or they are doing something meaningless because I stopped in my tracks and became lucid spontaneously. I was lucid for at least a few minutes and needed to stabilize the dream a few times.

I must have have at least 4 or 5 dreams I remembered between 3 and 6am when I had to wake.

I should have, but I did not do any reality checks to confirm my lucidity. I just had distinct moments when I suddenly knew I was dreaming. I also do not think there was much placebo effect involved because as i said, my efforts have been lazy lately and I simply popped the supplement and went back to bed.

I do not want to use choline too much and gain a tolerance, but I was quite pleased with my first use. I will likely save it for weekends when I am able to sleep a little later and have the opportunity for longer REM cycles.

Anyone else have an experience like this with choline or have any other "breakthrough" supplement for your dreaming?
