Ill get the obvious ones out of the way...

*1 - counting

*2 - watching the back of your eyelids

*3 - mantras

- *the felling of the bed pressing on you

continue... (...)

*- Play the word association game with yourself.
.5 - Play the game with mental images instead of words (by dms111)

*- Wear a rubber glove and put some ice inside the glove.*(by Bobblehat)

- Try to fall asleep as you normally would until you feel a slight vibration somewhere. Begin non-physical testing (movement free reality checks) like for example imagine holding an Iphone in your hand if you can feel it you know you are dreaming, prepare three typs of non-physical tests and cycle through them 4 times so 12 non-physical tests in total, if you are not dreaming start over from the beggining again and repeat. It's way that both works as a WILD technique and as a preparation for DEILD. (by MasterMind)

- focus on your breathing.
- play a fav song in your head (by minilee46)

- Imagine that your bed is spinning. (by doge)

- visualize a source of light and watch it, with out thinking.
*- Work on raising Kundalini, with out thinking.
*- Visualize a circle, then a triangle, then a square, repeat, repeat, repeat (by sivason)

- Singing. I like singing**to pretend I'm actually good, lol. (by jamiealexander)

- Listen to the sound of your fan and with each swoosh think of something you would like to do in your lucid dream. (by Mancon)

- Bend your arm awkardly so that it hurts a tiny bit. (by TheModernNinja)

*- Instead of counting like you normally would, try only counting to 5 over and over again.

*- Try to feel a small sensation in the upper left part of your brain, then focus on it just enough so you could still fall asleep. (by 1stdreamer)

*- Repeat to yourself in your head "I am going to dream about ______ tonight" (by noodlepup3)

*- Play with your hypnagogia
*- Use brainwave entrainment (Before lying back down, assuming you are staying up for 45 minutes.)
*- Do the classic "Counting Sheep".
*- Visualize a place to walk around in.
*- Visualize a bottle labeled "Lucid Dream" and drink from it in visualization.
*- All of the above (by Tradl3s)

- Imagine that I'm swimming up out of an abyss towards the dream, and every breath is a stroke towards it (by DreamscapeGoat)

*- Visualize what you're going to dream about.
- Do math. (Everybody likes math.)
*- Contemplate on deep philosophical questions, such as the meaning of life. Bonus points if you set it up like having a debate with yourself.
