100 anchors to use in WILD!

Well, i thought since lots of people have been looking for 'the' anchor to fit them, we could list a bunch of anchors. Be creative! It can involve visualization techs. Anything at all; as vague or detailed as you want.

Ill get the obvious ones out of the way...

      1. counting
      2. watching the back of your eyelids
      3. mantras
      4. the felling of the bed pressing on you

      continue...

P.S. you might have noticed the similarity to the 1000 things to do in a lucid dream thread. That was the inspiration.

6: One I'd like to try and might work: Wear a rubber glove and put some ice inside the glove. It hurts at first but the gradually wears off as the ice melts. (Probably best to put the ice in a rubber glove itself, so that you don't hurt your hand and don't end up with a wet patch on the bed.) Can imagine it working with WBTB and MILD.

If anyone tries it, let me know how you get on.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

      7. Try to fall asleep as you normally would until you feel a slight vibration somewhere. Begin non-physical testing (movement free reality checks) like for example imagine holding an Iphone in your hand if you can feel it you know you are dreaming, prepare three typs of non-physical tests and cycle through them 4 times so 12 non-physical tests in total, if you are not dreaming start over from the beggining again and repeat. It's way that both works as a WILD technique and as a preparation for DEILD.

      17. Instead of counting like you normally would, try only counting to 5 over and over again.

      18. Try to feel a small sensation in the upper left part of your brain, then focus on it just enough so you could still fall asleep.

interesting! I do a lot of focus meditations on feelings inside my brain. It is my belief that I can activate unused/underused portions of my brain this way.

I only use mantras as an anchor.

I have used visualizing a motion like the movement of me sitting up, in hope that once I'm in a dream, I will sit up and realize that I'm lucid. It had happened once or twice. But for me, this is a motionless reality check and not an anchor.

That is 30 great ideas so far.

In this Ask a Monk Youtube the monk describes how he accidentally triggered a lucid dream. He was very miserable at school age 13. He would come home lay on his bed and sooth himself by imagining the "Bed was swinging"

Please don't bump old topics (this one is around 3 years old!), especially if you intend to do a follow up reply...instead, make a new thread discussing your results
