A Positive aspect of lucid dreaming

This may seem obvious to you all, but until I experienced it, I didn't really appreciate it. Yesterday I wrenched my back pretty good...something I do every couple years. I was unable to stand up erect as the pain and muscle cramping was too severe. It is not fun shuffling around bent over. By the way, I went to the Chiropractor today and am somewhat better...2 more days of therapy should fix me up 90 % and will likely be normal a few days later. But last night i had a hard time finding a comfortable enough position to sleep in. But finally did. Then I had a brief lucid dream. I was walking in my dream when I realized I was dreaming. I then recalled I was in pain (when standing) and unable to walk erect in RL. But I took note of the fact I was walking erect and pain free. Really studied that! It felt GREAT.

Hey, this ain't flying, I know, which I have done many times in LDs. But somehow it was even more impactful realizing I could enjoy walking freely and easily around in spite of the reality of my condition. Imagine what a person who is physically challenged in some way must experience? Any others out there with similar experiences?

Its great you experienced something good about it for yourself. My dad has back pain and has trouble sleeping but when he falls asleep he definitely doesn't want someone waking him up. Its hard to fall asleep with that pain which is why he gets up in the middle of the night at times. For me, when i have a head ache falling asleep feels good. Being in a lucid dream feels even better because by the time i wake up the pain is gone. : D
