Do you trust in your lucid dreams - thoughts ?

      Hello,

Do you consider the informations you get in dreams, valuable informations ?

For exemple when you have to make a choice in life, and you hesitate, you ask in a lucid dream

"what is my real thought about this topic ?".

To be more precise, I'm currently working on a creative project, and I'm asking myself, what
if I trust my dreams and lucid dreams tells which creative choices I should do ?
Is it random ideas ? Or a real reflect of my inner motivations ?

For the fun, a little bit of music :

Your dreams give you the purest form of your own thoughts. When you ask how you feel in your dreams you get the unfiltered version. Assuming you don't just ask every single person you see in your dreams but ask the deeper visualizations of yourself then yes they do reflect your inner motivations and it will allow you to learn a lot about yourself that you might actually not be comfortable with. Or allow you to finally see how you work and change it. Essentially lucid dreaming allows you to find out who you are inside, so you can do what you want with that information.

Do you think these pure/deep thoughts are consistent over time ?
Or it depend of the mood of the day ?
      I guess it is consistent...

For me I find my dreams to be very helpful and informative towards decisions and general insights. I very often have pre cognitive moments too, which I don't usually predict but prove to be true anyway. Maybe it's not a matter of consistency but rather of interpretation. There seems to be a relationship that forms with the dreaming self that fascilitates the understanding of dreams. Over time and experience it becomes easier to understand symbols and feelings associated with dreams. Interestingly though, there are also times when the dream consciousness seems to clearly state something but also there are times where they may prevent you from knowing certain information.

      Some examples:
Over the last 2 years or so I've had many dreams of a friend of mine which clearly described the relationship we were havig in waking life. At times when we weren't close it would reflect in the dream world to a point where I even stopped having dreams of this person. But then when we were ready to resume our relationship the dream actually helped me get closer to this person again and it showed me how this other person felt in relation to me.

I've also had a dream of a friend breaking up with his gf and I hadn't been in contact for a long time. I later find out that they actually broke up.

There are many more examples but overall, I trust my dreams.

I accidentally deleted my whole post so had to re-write. Might not convey the message the same way I had. Oh well. Interestingg thread!

I personally do trust my dreams for insight, but I often take them with a grain of salt. Just like events waking life, some dreams are deep and carry insight, and should be taken seriously, while other dreams are more just silly and for fun, though they might carry with them some message as well. In waking life, things are much the same way. You have to do the important serious things like going to work and taking care of yourself and your family, but there are also laid back moments in your life that don't really count for anything, or things in your life that you do just for fun.

Dreams can have deep meaning but it's an important skill to be able to differentiate between what dreams/elements of your dreams are carrying this meaning, and what elements are just the dream being random or exist because of day residue.

Here's a thought to consider, Gusto: If you are a strong enough LD'er to remember to ask important questions, to do it in a manner that gets an answer, and then to correctly interpret that answer, then you very likely never needed to ask in the first place.

Why? Because the level of self-awareness necessary to do these things can be tapped during waking-life, and you can ask yourself the questions consciously and get the same, reliable, unvarnished answers that you would get in the dream -- all without need to interpret puzzling dream imagery!

In other words, if you are in deep enough touch with your Self to do such advanced LD'ing, you very likely should be in touch enough with your Self in waking-life to introspectively mull serious problems honestly, sincerely, and without need for unconscious input to unveil things you might be hiding from yourself. Remember, the only person to whom you are ever asking these questions is you; once you are receptive to your own thoughts (aka, self-awareness) deep and meaningful answers will become available, whether you are awake or not.

      Just a thought.

Yes, they are consistent over time. The truth tends to stand firm, regardless of surface moods or trends.

They are consistent since you always return to a baser version of yourself when you enter the dream. I've personally never had my current day affect my dreams but I can't speak for everyone.

I would take the information from my dream and look at it skeptically, I guess. More often than not, it tends to be something that rings true so I'll trust it, but my mind does seem to like silly nonsensical things so I really have to think on it to tell if it means something or if it's just random craziness getting dumped out on me.

I always always trust information from a lucid though. That's when I'm closest to my subconscious mind and pretty much everything I experience there seems to be symbolic in some way, even if I can't figure out what it symbolizes at the moment. It'll come to me later.
