Problem of maintaining the dream ><

      Hello everyone,
I started lucid dreaming last year and i got some LDs that i liked so much but i lack control :x ,lately i started reading that book of Mr.Stephen and i find it really interesting and helpful but i have a problem wich is " every time i notice that i'm dreaming and became lucid the dream start vanishing and my dream eyes start closing i can feel them and how they close i can see it and i lose my balance and can't get up ><
for example one day i dreamed that i was reading a book but stoped reading for a short moment then i said if i look at the book again and the writing style isn't the same then i'm dreaming and it changed so i said yeaaah i'm dreaming then i stoped that happiness and turned serious then i wanted to choose a Dream character to tell me that i'm dreaming i choosed pikachu because it's a weird this seeing it is enough to make me realise that i'm dreaming but pikacgu didn't appear and my dream started vanishing and my dream eyes started closing i was so determined to stay there so i was resisting by opening my eyes and i lost my balance ( this happend every time i'm aware i loose my balance i donno why ) and i couldn't get up but still i was yelling "pikachuu anything please xD " but it didn't worked and i lose my balance every time i'm lucid and the dream ends i wonder whyy i lose my balance and the dream go away and i don't get exited really i can control it .
So, could you please help me ??

      Hi there Sakki

What I do is do my best to go in with positivity and expectation of having fun or accomplishing things I know I can do ...and it seems to work ... If I worry about what I am gonna do in the LD a lot or plan too much I noticed I don't go with the flow enough and there is more chance to get frustrated or anxious ... I practice this in WL - when I stop and do RC and am self aware I imagine I am lucid and going with the flow enjoying a long stable lucid dream

Welcome to DV by the way

I would look into some good stabilization techniques as well. My favorite dream practice is just to sit down, run my hands over the ground (feeling textures is one of the most basic and successful techniques) and look around and think about the fact that my mind is 100% creating the environment around me, it's pretty mind blowing usually this makes the dream much more vivid and long lasting.

I am the other end of the spectrum as Patience though, I love planning out dream goals and trying to achieve them, though I suppose I don't feel stress or anxiety about it so maybe it's something you just get better at overtime. I do have to say though trying to find someone animated in a dream that is realistic I would consider pretty advanced.

Try not to think about your real body too much when in a dream, too.

RebelSeven, you are right I'm only worried about that dream guide i forgot that i should learn as a first step to stabilise my dream thank you so much, when a dream start i'l just hurried to cvoose a guide when the most importance is the dream stability and i think that it is also because of i used to believe that if i don't hurry up the dream.will end quickly and in any time so when i think about that and start panicking i lose my balance and the dream start crashing , i remember my first LD was stable and lasted longer because i started it with touching a wall when i did that the dream turned very vivid i was impressed a little i won't ponic this time and concentrate on stability thank you so much
ParanoidLlama, thank you so much for you advice i think a lot about my real body i will cut it this time thank you so much

Try to relax first and rubbing your hands together, no like very fast but just to feel the texture of it would help. And I've never tried this before but spinning when your dreams start to fade away might stabilize your dream. Or you just shout out loud "Clarity now!", might help.

I had a long lucid last night and I played around with dream stabilization a little. It didn't make a difference what I did as long as I was paying attention to the dream.
