Personally, I believe that our subconscious will only show us things that we are ready to see but on a personal level, you may want to take a break from lucid dreaming because you don't want to dive into it with negative thought pattern. Have you considered speaking to someone about your past experience? Speaking to a professional will help a lot physically and psycholoically only if you put the work in yourself.

Learn some meditation, go for walks in nature, spend time with friends, do the thing you love, this will make you feel a lot better about yourself. Don't think of it as quitting, think of it as making yourself a better person which will make your lucid dreaming a whole more fun when you decide to learn properly.

We all have problems, it's just about finding the way to deal with them.

Good luck with whatever you do, smile and stay positive.

Would it be ideal to just come back in a year or two? I'm 16 atm and don't have much freedom since i'm homeschooled and our neighborhood sucks lol. What if i just waited until i was 18 or so and had the freedom to move out or stay away from my dad more and basically, just giving myself time to forget about all of this and develop as a person. I don't want to feel like waiting two years is too long before i start lucid dreaming again, but at the same time i better not jump into it in this situation. Perhaps by the time i'm 18, i'll have a much more relaxed personality and won't even have these problems.

Honestly man, I don't know you, but I'm proud of you. People go through these type of situations and find it hard to speak about, it can take days, months or even years to talk about something so personal. It's hard for me to help someone who has been through a traumatic event so I'm unsure on what to say.

If you need anyone to talk to, just drop me a PM. Sorry, I've kinda took it off the topic. You may wish to start now, or you may want to take some time off. It's entirely upto you.

Oh no lol, the thing is. I didn't experience anything like this in real life. It's just random negative thoughts coming to my mind and sticking there. I get the fear that it may actually occur in my lucid, so that's what i've been worrying about for months. I think it's time for me to get over it.
