I'm not too sure on the exact details, but both those techniques are kind of similar in regards to noticing when you're waking up. I say try FILD first and if that doesn't work try DEILD. |

Hello, after 11 attempts with SSILD and no success(except one possible FA that I'm still unsure of) I have decided to try a different technique. I was going to try FILD but I wanted to get your opinions on whether I should use a different technique such as DEILD. The FILD sounds simple yet effective but I also think that my dream recall is good enough for DEILD. |

Thanks for your response. For how long should I try the FILD technique? |

To be honest it's hard to say. Nobody can really tell you when to drop a technique or to pick one up. That answer might frustrate you but that's how lucid dreaming is lol everything is so cryptic. For me I would give a technique 3 months before I decide whether or not it's for me. |

Maybe both? For what I understand the "FILD" technique is to induce WILD's. It would be great to keep both techniques in mind, so if you happen to fail the FILD and find yourself waking up from a non-lucid dream, then don't move a muscle, relax, and induce a DEILD (maybe even by the FILD method or by focusing on the hypnagogic imagery)! |
