      Does meditation help with D.I.L.D??

Im wondering....alot of the time when i search on the internet it says that meditation helps alot with lucid dreaming when it comes to attempting W.I.L.Ds but i dont do wilds.
I actually rely only on D.I.L.Ds and im wondering if anyone knows if meditation will help to make me more aware during my normal dream state? Thanks =D

Meditation, in many different forms is used to increase self-awareness and clear the mind of distracting clutter. Therefore, I'd say it most certainly can help you become more aware in your dream state. You may even catch yourself meditating within a dream and that increased awareness could make you realize something is significantly different than the waking life, causing you to become lucid. I wish you luck on your endeavors!

I think it helps for sure, if for no other reason than that it relaxes you (which helps in inducing lucidity). I don't remember off the top of my head exactly what he says, but Dr. Stephen LaBerge mentions the benefits of meditation for lucid dreaming in his book.

      Absolutely does help.
A lot of times happens during meditation that u getting urself distracted by random thoughts in a deep trance already. When u catching that moment it is basically how u becoming lucid in a regular dream, so u can take the advantage of the meditation with dild also (if not better than with wild)

The meditation is a technique itself for dilds.
Unfortunately i've stopped my daily meditations, i try the mild tech these weeks, its the most effortless tech of all

I understand how easy it is to stop meditating as it is time consuming and atm before bed i meditate and then try incubate the same dream scene in my head and hope one day ill dream of the scene and become lucid =)

Hi Clidu, I recommend looking into various forms of meditation. Each trains the brain in a certain different way. Which forms of meditation you use effects what benefit you may gain in lucid dreaming. Having a small handful of styles takes care of the time consuming or boring aspect. If you click on the Dream Yoga link in my sig, it takes you to a few good examples.

Yes, I think it vastly increases one's ability to get lucid with DILD. It can help with stabilization, dream control and much more.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

Both the long and short term alterations caused by meditation are beneficial to lucid dreaming.

The immediate effects of meditation on the brain are changes in the brain waves state, neurotransmitter levels, and the activation of certain brain systems and the reduction of activity in others.

The long term effects are structural, resulting from the repeated exposure of the neural hardware to this novel constellation of activity. Given enough practice, the state renovates the neurological architecture which upholds it. The result of these changes, is that the cognitive base line is raised, causing a global and semi-permanent increase in awareness, concentration, and remembrance; all abilities that are essential for lucid dreaming.

Both the long and short term alterations caused by meditation are beneficial to lucid dreaming. In the case of the short term, this can be applied to lucid dreaming by meditating right before going to sleep at night, and especially right before a WILD attempt in the morning. The meditative state and its singular mix of brain wave activity, neurotransmitter levels, and brain system excitation and relaxation, is highly synergistic with WILD induction. I have noticed that meditation before WILD attempts significantly increases their likelihood, and thus I would highly suggest its incorporation into any ones WILD procedure and general Lucid dreaming practice.

      Sivason and Tipharot like this.
