Try setting the intention to wake up at a certain time before to go to bed. |

So I've been trying to get my first lucid dream for a few months now (or crap, just trying to be able to remember my dreams more), and I don't have an alarm clock, well, of my own anyway. And even if I did, by the time I would have it go off, it will wake up my brother. Me and my brother share a bunk bed, and having an alarm clock go off in the middle of the night will probably annoy him. So what other ways that I could use to wake up in the middle of the night |

Setting intention seems to work for me since I am very excited about attempting an LD. Waking up naturally like this is less jarring than using an alarm. In the past I have set the alarm on my phone to go off at a certain time, but set it just on vibrate with no sound. I then put it under my pillow and this worked for me. |

Yes, telling yourself to wake up t a certain time can often work very well. |

Drink a glass of water before bed. You'll be naturally awakened when you need to urinate. Then you can do a WBTB. |

Before going to sleep at night, repeat the following to yourself: "I will wake up at 6.00 am" (or whatever time) repeat it 10 times, and try to really mean it. Focus on the phrase and nothing else. Say it out loud, don't just think about it. Trust me, it works better. After repeating it 10 times, simply relax ans go to sleep. This has worked for me pretty much all my life, almost every time. Good luck. |
