I've been trying to Lucid Dream for the past 5 years and I have gotten NO WHERE. I've tried making a dream journal and boosting my dream recall, while doing daily reality checks and other popular techniques such as WILD,MILD,WBTS, ect. The closest I've ever gotten to being somewhat lucid I would say are mostly just vivid dreams and in one dream I was teaching people HOW to lucid dream and didn't seem to make the connection -_- Anyone have any advice for a hopeless dreamer like myself I'd be much grateful. |

It looks like your thinking about lucid dreaming has gotten into your dreams. As you say, all you need is the connection. Which you can get during daytime practice. |

Ide probaly dial it back to the bare basics. and that's awareness in my opinion. Pay attention to yourself in waking life more. Pay attention to the things in your room that you just glance over at this point. ie: that book shelf. see whats actually on there, its probaly been awhile. Pay attention to the color of that car that just drove by,etc etc. I'd recommend the Dream Yoga Class in Dream Academy.(or the Dream Academy in general; its where I started.) As gab said,Mantras are useful. And dont throw away,or be dissapointed because your dream was a non-lucid. To be honest, this is my 2nd time learning Lucid Dreams, and im at a point where im basicly Lucid in my dream, awareness wise, but Im not rushing the next step of becoming lucid again because non-lucids with high awareness are actually interesting, and has built another layer of appreciation for them. And with everything, consistency is a must, though you seem to have that part down. assuming those 5 years were day-by-day effort. |

I just started having lucid dreams in the last couple of months so I'm fairly new at this. At first I would jumble up several techniques and get confused with what I was doing, especially when I was tired when I would get up to WBTB. And there are so many variations on the various techniques that it can get quite confusing as well. Besides doing the daytime work of RC's, awareness, and memory practice, I now will lay down and practice my chosen WILD technique (the DV tutorial written by gab) several times during the day, practicing each step that I plan to use that night. This counters the confusion I sometimes used to feel. I set modest goals for what I'll do during my LD, and KNOW that I will LD that night. And if I don't succeed in having an LD that night, I don't stress out about it. Now I don't want to seem like a suppliment pusher, but I have also found that using Galantamine, Choline, and Alpha-GPC has been a big help to me. Once I get used to the "feel" of the LD landscape, I will work on having LD's without the suppliments. Also, having NLD's where you are thinking of or talking about lucid dreaming is a good sign. A couple of times the same thing happened to me just a night or two before I had an LD. Your mind is being "primed" to have an LD. Just firmly stick to a techique for a while, do your daily practice, look at LDing as a hobby, and just don't stress out and don't have any doubt that you will eventually have an LD. Be positive. It will happen. |
