Let's call them "Dream Checks" instead of "Reality Checks"

Why not? It puts the emphasis on being and staying in the dream, rather than highlighting that we're not in reality.

We should be thinking," i this check fails I'm dreaming", not , "if this check doesn't fail I'm awake".

I always thought of it more like "which reality", not " reality or not" it doesnt pass or fail, just like flipping a coin doesnt pass or fail.

I appreciate this. If I can think about it this way I might get more comfortable with saying the phrase. But I posted in the other thread too that I could write, "I checked if I was dreaming" or just name the test. Instead of saying "I did 2 RC's" I could say "I did a finger palm test and a double clock check".

We didn't really come up with the term - you'll have to take it up with the great lucid dream researchers of the past. Not to mention that the acronym for Dream Checks would become DCs, which would conflict with the acronym for Dream Characters (another term/acronym established long ago).

Also, any particular reason you broke off from this thread? I see no reason to have two simultaneously-running threads with the same discussion.
