What to do when your eyes close or semi close and you can't open them ?

      Oï!
So ye question is in the title, sometime when i LD my eyes begin to close and i have to force so they remain semi open. I've tried to phisically open them, or to shout that i want them open like when i want stability but nothing work and i generally use the spin technic to enter another dream. Did this happen to anyone or do someone have a solution ?

That’s quite strange. I did have a series of nightmares as a child where this did happen. It was also accompanied by a heavy feeling that meant I could only move my body in slow motion. I now look back at those experiences and wonder if it was a very subtle noticing of my bodies sleep paralysis from within the dream which created slow movement and an inability to open my eyes.

I haven’t experienced this again as an adult and open and close my eyes regularly within dreams. I’m not sure how to get around it? Maybe try not to force them open and remind yourself you don’t actually have eyelids in dreams and you can see without opening them. I do that sometimes, it can take a moment but eventually my eye sight returns as if I’m looking straight through my closed eyelids.

Yes, I had that and alll kinds of variations of not being able to move, see etc. It is self reinforcing based on expectation and it happening before. You just need to realise that as we can dream through any sense we can also dream up such things just as you can dream up a memory. I personally like to run my hands to heighten the senses, be patient and allow the situation to resolve etc.

I hate when that happens! I usually peel them open with my dream hands.

Lel i've tried that but it doesn't work for me, but it happened again last night!
So instead of forcing them to open i just closed them and walked a little bit will saying to myself that i hadn't eyelids and i could dream by other sense. I was bumping everywhere but after maybe 10 sec of that i began to see some things written at the top and bottom of my vision, can't remember what and i think i didn't even read them in my dream, and it wasn't black anymore but like when you watch a light with your eyes closed and it was more and more intense. After maybe 30 sec of that my eyes just opened and i just went on with my dream. So idk what really helped here, maybe it was just the fact that i let them closed for a little bit or what i was saying to myself or both, if it happen again i would try to just close them for a bit to see. Thx for all the tips and i going to keep this thread update if i found other technique to get rid of that !
