This might be painfully obvious, or maybe not.

REM deprivation

I don't know of any way of accomplishing this short of actual sleep deprivation, but I know that if you don't have REM for a while, the next REM period will be longer. The max length one could make the REM period is anybody's guess.

So what you're saying is if I deprive myself of sleep for a few days, get say 3-4hrs sleep a day for 4 days. Then the next day I wait for as long as possible and then go to sleep with MILD or WILD, and my chances of a lucid dream (and long REM) are better?

Or, I could get really drunk, and then try to MILD. Would be fun, although waking every day with a hangover is a difficult task simply for the sake of LDing.

REALLY??? I guess its not such a good idea. But it should be ok if I just deprive myself from sleep overall shouldn't it? Hectic. Do you know where I can read up on those experiments?
