Thread: Dream Guides...

if they are you

Nobody knows the true nature of dream guides, I guess you could speculate but nothing is definite. I just accept that it's a great advantage to have found one's dreamguide, I'm looking for mine =)

That is probably one of my ultimate aims in LDing - to find my Dream Guide, and to talk with him/her for some time, and ask him/her to show me all sorts of stuff

no offence to any of you here, your opinions are your own, but i'd advise you to research Dreamguides (also known as spiritual guides) so you know some stuff about it before you start spitting out answers on how and where they come from..


cause the honest answer to HOW do they exsist and WHERE do they come from is simple..no one knows..it has yet to be proven that our own sub c makes them up, and it has yet to be proven where they truly come from...thats why life is a mystery and our dreams are there to help us solve it...

But why can your dream guide not be the manifestation of your subconscious? Like a passive split personality? Talking to you through your dreams, because that's the only way they can? Just a thought.

That is totally possible, and I would love for that to be what they are, but the truth of the matter is that there is no way (that we know of) to prove what Dream Guides are. Sure, we can ask them, but there's no way to know if they are telling the truth.

What I believe is that Dream Guides are just DCs that you made special, but at the same time, they're a totally different person than you, because you aren't the one picking what they say or do. You subconscious mind is. So I think it is a good idea to meet your DG and befriend him/her.

In the dream world, DCs are indeed real people, because the law of reality doesn't apply there.

heh... I remember at one point I wanted so bad to meet this "Dream guide" the night I became lucid I screamed for my dream guide to come .. This "Dream Guide" was a no show.

so to answer these questions

* Do you just stumble upon them, or do you create them? Not from my experience but I personally think you stublme upon them .
* Do they look like you want them to be, or does your mind create their looks independently? I really wouldn't know
* Can you call them to you, or do you have to go to them? I personally think my dream guide is lazy. therfore ,I'm going to my dream gudie if I have a chance of seeing them.
* What are they capable of? don't know
* What can you do to them? don't know
* Can you find them in non-lucid dreams? I think it would be possible but of coarse your control and aware of the situation would be much less.
* Can you order them around? Hellz no .. not mine anyway.

your pretty depressing, Erin... hehe. Still, If there is something to your dream guide, I'd be a bad I did to force yourself to make one... It'd just be another DC and not actually a dream guide, if you get want I'm saying. So I think that choosing its looks is a bad idea now. Though, I am still very interested on input about how to find them.

Well i would love to meet my dream guide. That would be my goal for lucid dreaming i'd say.
Think about it, if your mind made them up, then whoa! you have done a lot of subconsious thinking to make up a whole new being, (yep a being, not a person.) so congrats to urself on that one.

But if they are completely independant, then obviously there's something else out there doing some serious stuff!

It would be great to have a dream guide, like a really personal best friend and they can show u the ropes about dreaming.

If they turn up... respect them, cos remember this: When u wake from a bad dream, you think, phew its just a dream!! life is normal etc. But if u mess up in a dream with your DG, then ur screwed...

Spiritual guide! what how is this not beyound dreaming material. Can a moderater move all the topics of Dreamguide or Spiritual guides to their rightful place in this forum called beyound dreaming. I know this is about dreaming, however isnt precog dreams about dreaming, but their still in the right place beyound dreaming.

please, Becoming, calm down. We know you dont like spirituallity, but this is no reason to move it

I've met mine once (atleast I believe I have).

He was very smart, sophisticated, etc - almost like a genious.

I would love to be able to talk to my dream guide . I undersatnd what your saying though, personally I agree with you. I think it better to stumble upon your dream guide than to "create" one depending on looks. Why not be surprised. You and me both need information about finding them. I guess the "calling" won't help.

Actually it's a very good reason to move it. If it's about spiritual stuff, it should go in Beyond Dreaming.

It just makes sense, don't you think?

I believe that DG's are creations of your mind, used as a pathway to simplify getting into contact with your subcouncious. They are like a symbol for what your brain has to do to tap into your sub-conscious if you know what I mean. Like you could go through all the manual ways of tapping into your sub-conscious but it is easier to make something which will do it automatically for you, so you don't have tot hink about it much. THIS IS ALL IMO SO DON'T SAY THAT IM SAYING IM RIGHT WHEN THERES NO PROOF ETC.

But I do have one thing to back my idea up. I have an imaginary friend IRL, I posted this in another topic about imaginary friends. And when I talk to him sometimes, I tap into my sub-conscious by asking him a question, I realise his answer is what I am feeling DEEP inside.

Yes, as long as we're still talking about dream guides there's no reason to move it. But once you start saying spirit guides, then I think it should be moved, because that's obviously Beyond Dreaming material.

It should be moved. I could stand people saying it is the subconscious however if you look deeper it obviously he see the dreamguide as a spiritual guide. Now common on mod move this post and the posts of dream guide i.e. spiritual guides into their right place.

Ya... and not only that, but I never said I thought it was anything more than a construct of the mind... In fact, if you'd have read the beginning of the post this thread was about Getting in contact and what I should make it look like... Cause I think that you can make whatever you want be your dream guide. Its the other people getting spiritual on me.

Exactly, and the post's NAME is DREAM GUIDES.... We were just discussing our viewpoints on wether they are from our subconscious or some other thing

Personaly i don't mind what they are, although a real spiritual guide would be cool.

Metcalfracing is right, read the beginning and divert your attention onto how to meet your guide.

Not 'creating' them yourself would be more rewarding than making them appear from behind a door or whatever. If you were to create them, i guess it would be like making a smart DC rather than the usual, then giving them independant control.

Try willing to see them before you go to sleep and see if that does anything.
