Dont you hate when this happens? I do

A couple times now, I fell into a lucid dream and I didn't even know it!

First time, I was laying on the floor (First hint) and my mom came in and said we have enough money for new phones! I was like, ok mom thanks for waking me up for that. Then when I woke up I realised I was lucid.

Last time, was kind of a nightmare. I was actually lucid and getting terrifying thoughs while I was laying. Seeing things in the dark it was quite scary and weird. Pretty mad I didn't realise I was lucid!

Wait I'm confused... so you didn't actually realize "hey, I'm dreaming!" during the dream, right? Then it's not a lucid. Maybe it was a really vivid but regular dream instead...

There. Now it makes more sense. You did not realize you were dreaming, so you weren't lucid. Not realizing you are lucid makes even less sense. Unless you don't know what lucidity is yet (for people who had lucids before learning what the term 'lucid dreaming' was), we all associate "knowing we are dreaming" with lucidity.

Of course, I could've misunderstood your entire post.

I think you mean you didn't realize you were dreaming, because it's not a lucid dream unless you actually know you're dreaming.

I'm afraid thats not quite Lucid, That's just thinking that it was possible you could have been. If you didn't realise that you were dreaming, whilst you were dreaming, then you weren't Lucid Dreaming. You were just kicking yourself when you woke up.

      Wow, I confused myself.

Well I mean, I must have entered a WILD, but I didn't know I was actually Lucid. I thought it was real life and all. I guess it didn't click at the time that I was actually Lucid, I thought it was in waking life. Maby cause Logic gets turned off? Maby im totally missing that point though...

You are only lucid if you realize that you are dreaming while you are still in the dream. I think you have the definition of "lucid dreaming" a bit confused...

I get what your getting at, so what do you call it when your dreaming and your lucid(Able to control it and your actually there) but you just don't actually realise its a dream and you think its reality?

Sounds like it SHOULD be Lucid if I think about it. Just cause its not the "definition".

If you have a dream, BUT YOU THINK ITS REAL LIFE (like what you described) its just a regularl dream.

A lucid dream is where you know what you're seeing isnt real.

If you try to induce a lucid (say, by using a MILD) and you fail...you might have dreams, but they are not lucid until you know you are dreaming

Xyn, a lucid dream is only (like has been said) "a dream where you know you are dreaming."

If you have a vivid dream, where you feel you have control of yourself, and it's like you're actually there, that is just a vivid dream where you have a slight level of control.

If you don't know that you are actually dreaming though, you are not (what is referred to as) lucid, in any way.
